I don't identify as queer, but I feel this issue in my soul. I hate Trump for all the bigotry he's brought to the surface AND I can appreciate that he made a powerful statement calling for the release of the hostages and condemning Hamas. That doesn't mean I like or revere him. It just means I recognize the importance of what he said in this moment seeing as our current president never made as much of a strong, clear call of condemnation of Hamas over the last year and a half. Both can be true.

Here's the thing. Left leaning Jews and pro Israel people are going to need to set aside their hatred for Trump and for right wingers who they generally disagree with because unfortunately those are generally the only voices who are on Israel's side (even if for cynical purposes). We need to collectively learn that sometimes we can find common ground with people whose opinions on any range of other matters we find to be distasteful or worse. It's about facts not ideology.
