Never bleach over toner. You’re supposed to bleach as much as you can to get as light as possible and THEN tone. Tone is basically dye so if you then bleach over that theres no point and you’re just damaging your hair for no reason.

Does it make sense to bleach my hair, put blonde permanent toner on it to get rid of the yellow and then put the grey color on it ? Thats what ive heard on the internet but it doesnt make sense for me to first tone it and then tone the tone again lol

@@switterbeet yes it does, because the toner will probably blend the color that you've bleached it to better, and allow the gray to pop more and look mere even ; )

Just an FYI for anyone else thinking about this or for when you redo this, don't tone it between bleaches! When you tone it your depositing color to offset the bleached color, then you're just bleaching out the toner. Just tone it once and for all at the end and save yourself some time and money!

@@karlaberganza8452 you have to bleach it light enough for the silver toner to show. a really light yellow/almost white color is what it has to be lifted to for the grayish color. you can find the toner>hair shades charts on google!

just a tip to prevent major damage, even though i bleached my hair close to a level 9 and then applied a permanent dye after, i recommend you using semi-permanent instead bc it'll just deposit the colour instead of opening the hair shaft again and causing more damage with permanent dye! i'm not a professional, but it's what i learned from hair professionals 😅 and from trial and error doing my own silver/grey hair lolol

Don't scrunch up the foil like that! You have to leave it flat otherwise, it will concentrate in certain areas and get blotchy!

I think it would have helped if you divided your hair into smaller sections. Like overall, you have 2 parts on each side, but they're also sectioned to help the bleach distribute more evenly and just really saturate your hair.

Please never listen to Sally’s employees, the majority of them have no actual hair knowledge prior to starting and aren’t given any training on it either. If they mention that they’re a hair dresser or at least in cosmo school then listen, but just a regular Sally’s employee would have no knowledge. I guess the reason why your hair is still a bit yelow on some parts is because a grey permanent toner cant cover yellow hair, so no matter how much you put on the yellow parts it wont turn grey. I guess you shouldve just bleach it twice and then put the blonde toner on and THEN put the grey box dye on. I want to bleach my hair and dye it grey but im anxious that i cant get rid of the yellow parts after and then im fucked up
