When editor of the mags I contacted Jon on several occasions over the years. I ask for advice on poles/rods etc major purchases. Now at that time I was on a tight budget so couldn't afford to waste money on poor purchase's. Jon gave me totally independent advice and t.b.h because of him I NEVER WASTED A SINGLE POUND... So cheers Jon, much appreciated. Your a star sir. 👌👌👌👌👌👌

Hi Jon what a great result on a difficult day! It’s amazing how simple bait and tactics how often score and hair rigged corn is simple and cheap! However no more fishing for any of us for a while or possibly a long while. Stir crazy will not be a strong enough expression of how I will be. Take care of yourself and your family. Regards Bill

Matrix interchangeable feeder system. I definitely prefer fixed where it's allowed.

Great result. Good angling Jon. Glad I wasn't out on the bank with that cold wind in my face. Gutted that the Big One was called off. It's main the Matrix and Cadence stands I wanted to visit. That's where I would have found most of my favourite anglers. Beside that, we've got vital advice given fro number 10. And I desperately hope you're being extra careful Jon. It's not about being scared, but rather being wise, employing common sense. I'm still out fishing here and there. I call my local tackle shop with an order, and they meet me by the roadside with bait ect. keep safe, keep well my friend, I'm just one of many followers of yours that really want you to avoid getting ill. Take care mate.

Hi John, quick question (not related to this video). I have bought an mtx 3, love the pole but I have noticed you have a nose cone on your number 3 section - is this something you have added or does it come on the four as standard? If not do you know where I can get them and do they do them for the other sections? Any help would be appreciated, thanks (Brian)
@gavingoldthorp40934 жыл бұрын
I think they are the protecta pole nose cones. Their website is protectapole.com - they do them for all the sections and they are a top notch product.

Congratulations Jon on qualifying. Class match fishing! Larford looks more of a natural venue than a commercial. 2 questions: 1. Why hair rigged corn over hooking corn direct? 2. I always assumed that on commercials, it works best to feed according to bites. Whereas you piled amount of bait in with feeder when hardly getting bites. Is this more of a tatic when fishing for bream rather than carp? Trying to learn from the masters like yourself. All the best in the final Jon, Andy Kirk.
@JonArthur4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Andy! Hair-rigging helps the fish self hook as it leaves the entire hook exposed. If you hook it normally you have to hit the bite and/or use a much bigger hook. Yes I fed quite a bit of particles as there were loads of little silvers showing and I feel bream like to graze over pellets, so I wanted to hold them in front of me whenever they passed through. It's better to do this on a big open water venue like Larford rather than a smaller lake. Take care mate!

Well done mate and great videos, only down side is the amount of subtitles, imo not required especially after actually repeating what you have just said, just saying and it’s not meant in a derogatory way. Thanks for your vids bud.
@JonArthur4 жыл бұрын
Thanks GG. I get far more praise for adding subtitles than not, though, as it often adds a bit of info and clarity and also helps with the sometimes difficult sound quality as I mumble and talk to myself in a match scenario! I see so many totally quiet live match videos where just a little bit of effort would really aid the audience. All the very best.
@grumpygrandad12164 жыл бұрын
Jon Arthur Angling thanks for getting back to me John, well you know better than I do as it’s you that get the feedback, it doesn’t spoil it for me at all, I just wondered why there was so much of it and if it was necessary, so you have answered that one and I thank you again.
