Nice one. That's why I always wear polarised glasses, even on commercials. Something I learnt from game fishing lads. I believe it gives me an edge to be able to see more of what's going on under the surface. they cut out surface glare, and protect my eyes from the sun, and flying hooks from my wonky casting. The sight of a bit of tail, or a patch of muddy water often leads to bonus fish.

Congratulations Jon on a cracking match win opening the match with a cracking 20Ib 4 oz mirror, all the fish you caught I would say were 10Ib or more apiece apart from the couple of small perch. It was awesome the all in was called then you saw the 3 carp in the margins you put a shallow rig in and the beast nailed your bait, an epic scrap then trying to get it in your landing net, top angling Jon nice one 👍

Proper wake up call, having a 20lb lump yanking your chain first thing. Thing is, it's down hill from there. Until you had lumps, one after another, after another. " things came to mind when watching this. 1st, If this was a John Wilson session, he'd have laughed right off his seat after the first 10 fish. 2nd, I reckon it ws great to go through the day's events to edit this, reliving every moment of a really good day. Note to self. When go to Rolfs, take a big, sturdy landing net, and never fish against Jon... LOL Congratulations mate. hard to believe that's winter fishing.

Absolutely awesome. You're going to have to get one of those massive fold-up triangle nets the carp boys use for next time there! Fish a couple of Sundays ago in November and the carp were going mental competing for casters on the surface. Unbelievable.

Great video Jon as always 👍🎣💪💪 Love catching carp on the pole great tip if they try and go under the pallet I’ll defo try that next time. Cheers I’ve switched over to matrix gear now and those carp landing nets are fantastic 😊

Blimey Jon what a bag of fish some serious lumps on that soft elastic I went to white acres again this July and fished bolongey I had carp upto 18lb on that 12 to 14 slick I had 392lb in 5hrs lol but like you if I went up a size or 2 i could of smashed 500lb but welldone for nearly 200lb shallow in November absolutely mental 👍👍👍

Great video Jon, what a start. You definitely need a bigger net for them. Bet if someone had said you'd catch >200lb shallow during that match you'd have laughed at them. Well done another example of staying on feeding fish.🙃🙃🙃

Jon, yours are some of the best edited videos on KZbin. Let's have less fish tanks and more on the proper hard venues I fish - Cherwell, Oxford Canal and Thames in winter.

What a great start. 20Lbs in 1st couple minutes. Like the way you kept telling all it was a 20 pounder. Was it the biggest you ever caught. Given start of the cold part of year it was a really amazing catch. I thought the using of sunglasses was a great tip. Well done for a great result. Cheers.
