In the second act of “Die Fledermaus”, Jonas Kaufmann was able to be won over as a very special surprise guest, to the great delight of the State Opera audience. The star tenor delighted guests and audience with a musical interlude. It was the last New Year’s Eve performance under the last directorship of Dominique Meyer at the Vienna State Opera in 2020.

Happy New Year ! Thank you for posting this, Jonas is the prince of my heart among tenors . I will never forget the day years ago , when I heard his voice on the New York radio classical music station …I was driving and I nearly crushed my car when he sung "Pourquoi me reveiller " lol 😂, it was magic . Of course I had to go to extreme to get the ticket for his performance at the Met Opera . His voice is a bliss .
