Hello Marcia.Given that it is Leoncavallo I had to enter today. An opera of clowns based in the carachters of La Comedia Dell Arte.Arlequin, Pantaleón,Colombina... This was his most important opera .He only wrote about twenty and ,on top,he had to face the fact that PUCCINI stole La Boheme he had written, although there were changes made. He cries over his broken soul thus his wife doesn't love him anymore.But still he is a clown and has to appear one more day in front of the public. With the face white of flour.Well probably mixed with cream but there weren't many cosmetics at that time. The aria is terribly sad and Jonas is just 😊 wonderful in singing and expression.
