Yes, having a narcissistic parent is gut-wrenching. You love them and yearn/crave for their love and approval but at every turn you experience and witness evil and pain at the very hands that are meant to nurture and protect. The minute you believe they mean you no harm-you must have misunderstood or deserved it in some way-they slam you again. It is torture. I didn’t know about Daystar until this story came out and I back Jonathan and Suzy 100%! For them to stand firm against adultery was wonderful to see! They could have easily caved for the sake of their positioning in the church, but their faith was strong and their commitment really touched me! I am 78 and was raised in the denomination of the Nazarene church. At the age of 18 I saw a minister, and the song leader having an affair during our youth camp. That was my first experience with the sin of adultery right there in front of me. It hurt me so bad and I decided to never look to people, but only look to my Savior. I am glad I didn’t give up my faith. I did change churches and the same thing happened. The minister was having affairs with women in the church. I am just glad I kept my eyes on Jesus! When I saw your story of Joni and Doug it brought back the memories of my experiences. Stay strong in your faith, and don’t allow anyone to challenge your stand. I am so proud of both of you! I hope Doug and Joni wake up to the havoc and the upheaval they have caused because of their lust. I am happily married 60 years…God sent my husband to me after prayer. Jonathan and Suzy…stay close together through this time. You are in God’s strong hands! 🙏
