He’s got more nuance and versatility than Pavarotti and just as much power. Saw him at Disney Hall last Christmas and he about blew the roof off the place. He’s performing at Carols in the Domain in Australia Dec 16!

Naunce and versatility yes and beauty and richness of tone but Pavarotti had more power then Jonathan. For me to be convinced of Jonathan's operatic credentials he needs to actually go into full opera and not keep performing with microphones and sound engineering. Pavarotti could almost break glass with his voice without a microphone or PA system in sight!

You haven’t heard him live lately Adam! He has to back off the microphone these days. I am pretty sure he could break glass if he tried. Was seriously thinking he could cause those ancient stones to crack at Ephesus ! If you notice in some of his studio performances from home he turns his head and/or backs off several FEET so as not to overwhelm the sound system. ( it’s an issue when you have nuance AND power! 😂)
