@@mariojosesainzm2582 Jonathan was destined to sing to the world and if Charlotte hadn't been able to do her part God would have sent another. But she did her part well just like his parents who let him as a small boy sing and dance around the house to good music, just like nurturing teachers who recognized his talent and encouraged him, just like 6 years of hard training including 3 years of classical training at The Royal Academy of Music. Almost every single successful person has had people who helped them along the way. We should each try to be that person who makes a difference in someone else's life.

I definitely think they got so far because of each other. Her voice is good but I'm not sure would have got her so far but without her I don't think he would have been able to get up on stage. In all honesty though, this show and others like it, are just stepping stones to getting noticed. The "winners" are based entirely on popularity with the voters, never on talent. Sure, talent gets them to the finals, but when you leave judging up to the general population, arguably the dumbest collective intelligence, you'll often get ridiculous results. That being said, I'm sure they have a much brighter future than some dog and its owner who were simply enjoying their fifteen minutes of fame. I could be wrong though, I haven't followed Jonathan and Charlotte at all and have no idea where they are now. So let the dog have its day. It'll have died of old age LONG before J&C will and IF those two are still performing, then their music will continue to give to the world long after their departure, where as, I'm sure everyone has already forgotten about a dog.
@Snowleopard7559 жыл бұрын
idunbeezasmart1 You are spot on with the voting public. In the past if a child appeared, as long as they were cute and preferably had a lisp, you knew they'd win because they'd get the mass granny vote, now, in shows where children can't appear, it's stupid dancing dogs. In case you are interested, J&C went on to produce two excellent albums together then parted earlier this year. Jonathan released his first sole album 'Tenore' (stunning album!) in October, which went straight to the top of the UK classical charts. He's recently been performing at the Classical Spectacular at the Royal Albert Hall in London.

Snowleopard755 That is excellent to hear! Honestly, I agreed with Simon about going solo. I didn't feel Charlotte brought anything special to the duo and only detracted from Jonathan's wonderful voice, but I admire his loyalty and we would've never been treated to the splendid experience of hearing his voice if not for Charlotte. Thanks for the heads up!
@survivrs9 жыл бұрын
Volaire Larp I've been saying the same thing. If I were the Queen, I would be offended to have to sit through some stupid thing like that. I love dogs, but that is something that just doesn't belong. These kids or Only Boys Aloud should have won, but it seems that they have both won if you look at what has happened since their time on BGT. So amazing!! I wish we could get their albums in the stores in the U.S. but fortunately there is ebay or Amazon.

This audition was back in 2012. When the show ended, Simon offered them a 1M British Pound record deal with his SYCO records. They did 2 albums and tour together. Then SONY offered them each a Solo Contract. Charlotte's album was released first. After, She Decided To Return To Music Art's School and Graduate. She now has a successful career in Musical Theatre, which was always her dream and has performed in London's West End! Both are doing what they love. Jonathan Antoine has gone on to a very successful career. When he was 19, Placido Domingo requested him to be his Special Guest for the itunes Festival Global Event. In 2019 Jonathan had Sold Out Concerts in Toronto, which were filmed for American PBS TV. His Music Video's of "Amazing Grace/Grazia" and "These Are the Special Times/Momenti Splendidi"(Won a Best Music Video Award) are Both Beautiful to Watch and Listen to. Music Video of Jonathan singing "Io Si/Seen" per Grammy award winning composer Diane Warren's request! He sings the harmonies too. BEAUTIFUL!!! It debuted at #1 on itunes Classical Chart as did his recent CD "Christmasland Platinum Edition" which contains the Beautiful "Caro Gesu Bambino" "Tu Scendi Dalle Stelle" "Peace on Earth/Little Drummer Boy"(He sings both parts) and "Silent Night/Stille Nacht" He also sings in German "Dein Ist Mein Ganzes Herz" a tribute to his dear friend Helga.

Yep. Very agile voice, makes it sound and look easy. Haha Also had a timbre heavier than Pavarotti. Pavarotti is a lyric tenor, and I think Jonathan could be very well a dramatic tenor, consider his age and his voice will mature more.

People shouldn't complain about them not winning. Second place was the best possible outcome for them. It gave them maximum exposure on the show, while at the same time it resulted in much, much more lucrative contracts than the top prize.

I'm glad they worked on the balance. In the initial performance Jonathan was so overpowering that Charlotte got lost in his wake. But it sounds like he toned it down a tad, and she stepped up to show her beautiful voice. great job ! Well done! Bravo!!!
@OneVoiceMore8 жыл бұрын
+daisy8luke In fairness, Jonathan jumped the gun on the start, and she turned to non-verbally cue him to wait, and it pulled her off her harmony part onto the melody where he's much stronger. She's the unsung hero there, because she anchored him when he botched and could've derailed the performance. Nerves can do harsh things. Later in the song, she again pulls him back into the pocket when he's lagging. I'm sure with his huge voice, he sometimes can't hear the score. He needed her more than most seem to realize. Simon missed an obvious opportunity to compliment her professionalism and poise, rather than treat her like a roadblock to Jonathan.

He has gained so much confidence, it so wonderful to watch. Charlotte can take a lot of credit ... as Johnathan said, the first show, if it wasn't for her he couldn't have gone on the stage. I can't believe 11 years have gone by already.
