This audition was back in 2012. When the show ended, Simon offered them a 1M British Pound record deal with his SYCO records. They did 2 albums and tour together. Then SONY offered them each a Solo Contract. Charlotte's album was released first. After, She Decided To Return To Music Art's School and Graduate. She now has a successful career in Musical Theatre, which was always her dream and has performed in London's West End! Both are doing what they love. Jonathan Antoine has gone on to a very successful career. When he was 19, Placido Domingo requested him to be his Special Guest for the itunes Festival Global Event. In 2019 Jonathan had Sold Out Concerts in Toronto, which were filmed for American PBS TV. His Music Video's of "Amazing Grace/Grazia" and "These Are the Special Times/Momenti Splendidi"(Won a Best Music Video Award) are Both Beautiful to Watch and Listen to. Music Video of Jonathan singing "Io Si/Seen" per Grammy award winning composer Diane Warren's request! He sings the harmonies too. BEAUTIFUL!!! It debuted at #1 on itunes Classical Chart as did his recent CD "Christmasland Platinum Edition" which contains the Beautiful "Caro Gesu Bambino" "Tu Scendi Dalle Stelle" "Peace on Earth/Little Drummer Boy"(He sings both parts) and "Silent Night/Stille Nacht" He also sings in German "Dein Ist Mein Ganzes Herz" a tribute to his dear friend Helga.

+daisy8luke In fairness, Jonathan jumped the gun on the start, and she turned to non-verbally cue him to wait, and it pulled her off her harmony part onto the melody where he's much stronger. She's the unsung hero there, because she anchored him when he botched and could've derailed the performance. Nerves can do harsh things. Later in the song, she again pulls him back into the pocket when he's lagging. I'm sure with his huge voice, he sometimes can't hear the score. He needed her more than most seem to realize. Simon missed an obvious opportunity to compliment her professionalism and poise, rather than treat her like a roadblock to Jonathan.

This performance showcased Charlotte's talent as none before had. Her voice is gold. Johnathon had simply overpowered her previously, but here Charlotte got to spread her wings. And she did not disappoint. In fact she PROVED she belongs every bit as much as Johnathon. For them to have lost to a girl and her dog, much as I LOVED them is unfathomable.

They didn't need to win to have a fantastic career and future. Jonathon four years later is an accomplished musician and his voice is one of the best I have ever heard and I am an opera fan familiar with more than 200 operas. I hope he gets into full operas instead of a "jobbing" singer.

It’s 9 years since this occurred. My husband stumbled upon their 1st audition video and shared it with me. We both bloody ❤️FELL IN LOVE❤️ with these two! We’ve purchased their CD’s, and listen to them 2-3 times daily. Charlotte gently pushed him onto the stage (or should I say “led” him) and then intentionally took a step backward so that he could shine-that’s clear. And Johnathan-while he could have then kicked her to the curb and progressed on his own, didn’t! He credited her for believing in him and guiding him. Wow, that’s a Godly friendship. And that’s why God has blessed both of them, individually! They may not have won the competition that year, but it doesn’t matter, they’re both still climbing in their careers. Johnathan will surpass Andrea Bocelli (IMHO) because he has a bit more range higher and lower. But Antoine and Bocelli will be the top 2 tenors of all time!! Simply Fabulous voices!!!

New Music Video, Jonathan Antoine singing "lo Si/Seen" per Grammy award winning composer Diane Warren's request! He sings the harmonies too. BEAUTIFUL!!! It debuted at #1 on itunes Classical Chart! There is a wonderful video from 2010 of Jonathan singing Ava Maria in a Church when he was just 15 years old. That video has over 5 million views. lo Si was filmed in that very same Church.

Johnathan went for saying 6 words in the chatty part ( the first performance) to saying full sentences and expressing himself beautifully in this episode... what a transformation. He has gained so much confidence, it so wonderful to watch. Charlotte can take a lot of credit ... as Johnathan said, the first show, if it wasn't for her he couldn't have gone on the stage. I can't believe 11 years have gone by already.

I stumbled on their audition while looking for something completely different, I have watched the 3 performances so often my eyes have 'burn in'.I dont know why I feel so much empathy towards Jonathon's private struggles since my life was not the same growing up. In some of the show interviews you can see how low his self esteem is and I thought my god that poor kid cant even look into the camera! I am very happy the narrative for Jonathan's future is so bright and I wish him all the success in the world, if anyone deserves it he does. I have followed his progress as best I can and now that he is in his twenties I can see the memories of those struggles from his teens stay with him and keep him firmly grounded.

If you please, take a moment and reflect on what happened here... Had not Charlotte signed up Jonathan to partner with her on BGT it's very likely we all might never have heard this young man sing... And as terrific as Charlotte is as a singer, I doubt she gets very far in this competition as a solo artist... Isn't this what life SHOULD BE?!... Friends helping friends...
