I am also a huge fan and watched it as much as I could when it was on ABC. For those unaware, all episodes are available on the free TUBI streaming service. The are split between "Dark Shadows - the Beginning", which are the episodes prior to the appearance of Barnabas (and I think are good - and they have their share of ghosts and a "phoenix"), and the episodes that start with Barnabas are just called "Dark Shadows". FYI

I loved Jonathan Frid! What I most liked about his performances was the show was filmed LIVE! Filming live you only get one shot at the take, no matter what. You had to keep going and do the best you could. If someone went up on (ie flubbed) a line, you had to pray the other actors would jump in and cover for you. When Jonathan blew a line, he fell right out of character. His accent vanished and you could see his panic, until he remembered the script. But he always soldered on like real a trooper and finished the scene. In some of these episodes his part was 15 or 20 minutes long. I know I couldn't remember 5 minutes of script and recite it let alone 20 minutes worth! These TV soap opera actors in the 60's and 70's were REAL Professionals!
