Good to see him ; he does a nice interview. I was pleased to see he came in costume, complete with fangs. Thank you, Jonathan Frid, for good memories.

Thank you for adding this! I was in eighth grade when Dark Shadows originally aired on KTVI (Channel 2) in St. Louis, MO. When school let out at 3 p.m. the girls all ran out the door screaming, running to get home to watch Dark Shadows. I was not a fan at that time. I did watch one episode, and it didn't move me. I made up for it years later when I purchased the coffin box CD set. It took me a little over a year, but I watched every episode. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The cast was so talented! Thanks again!!

My mom was a 'Dark Shadows' super fan. She recorded nearly every episode on VHS when it was airing on the Sci- Fi channel in the early 90s. Definitely one of the most unique soap operas on TV and the storylines were quite compelling. I had a crush on Alexandra Moltke aka Victoria Winters. Of course, Jonathan Frid's Barnabas Collins was the main event of the show. In my opinion he made Dark Shadows iconic.

She’d watch for the Romance which was oblivious to me but the occasional vampire or witch Scared the crap out of me. Now to rewatch a Live episodic program that came Daily was to cool for school. So you get some line flubs or set walls that shake whenever the door is used and the occasional Boom mic or camera pops into frame. Fun show great memories.

I am also a huge fan and watched it as much as I could when it was on ABC. For those unaware, all episodes are available on the free TUBI streaming service. The are split between "Dark Shadows - the Beginning", which are the episodes prior to the appearance of Barnabas (and I think are good - and they have their share of ghosts and a "phoenix"), and the episodes that start with Barnabas are just called "Dark Shadows". FYI

I loved Jonathan Frid! What I most liked about his performances was the show was filmed LIVE! Filming live you only get one shot at the take, no matter what. You had to keep going and do the best you could. If someone went up on (ie flubbed) a line, you had to pray the other actors would jump in and cover for you. When Jonathan blew a line, he fell right out of character. His accent vanished and you could see his panic, until he remembered the script. But he always soldered on like real a trooper and finished the scene. In some of these episodes his part was 15 or 20 minutes long. I know I couldn't remember 5 minutes of script and recite it let alone 20 minutes worth! These TV soap opera actors in the 60's and 70's were REAL Professionals!

My high school platooned ... they were building a new high school because ... stupid reasons at the time, although we did need another one also. My cohort went in the afternoon so I couldn't watch DS. I got my Mom to watch it and tell me what happened every day so I could keep up and keep my friends up to date on what was going on for that entire school year as even when we got into the new school, we weren't home in time to watch the show.
