In this extremely restrictive environment this advice might seem to make sense. For some people (either in or outside of academia) it's a painful lesson that some people are abusive and to be avoided. It's irresponsible to give sweeping advice that could actually cause a person to put themselves in danger.

IMHO, it would be more interesting to make a parallel presentation of the respectives tools available to the privileged and the oppressed. It is quite new that the voice of the latter can be heard by larger audiences and they might not be doing it perfectly right. But what about the long history from the other side ?
