I once went for an operation while I suffered from a bleeding disorder and as they put me out, the surgeon and two other doctors were still arguing about the dosage of medicine to be used to stop me bleeding out afterwards! They must have got it right, I guess, as I am still here.

No relation! 🤣 In 1969 when he (Sir David) was Director of Programmes at the BBC, he commissioned the TV show Monty Python's Flying Circus and gave those awfully funny chaps their big break. And the rest, as they say, is natural history.

Sir David the voice of natural history programmes for the past 70 years. He has brought the natural world into our living rooms and classrooms through award-winning natural history programs such as Life on Earth, The Private Life of Plants and The Blue Planet. With over 40 animals and plant species named after him, and a constellation, he has explored uncharted land and met the remotest people on Earth. In 2015, he dived 1,000ft in a submersible off the Australian coast to film previously unseen parts of the Great Barrier Reef, breaking the record for the deepest ever dive on the reef. He also collaborated with the Natural History Museum on a virtual reality project, and filmed BBC series - such as Planet Earth II and Wild Isles

I feel that they overstate the titles of many of these videos. David laughed but it was nowhere near what I would call "losing it". Still a good clip and video!

It never got beyond a polite laugh with eyes that said, "Why would anyone do that?" It was hardly worth Sir David being there.

If it weren't for Sir David, I wouldn't have passed my biology O-level in 1980. The only reason I stayed wake in biology lessons that year was because our horrendously boring teacher would play Life on Earth episodes which he recorded off TV.

How can you not have heard of David Attenbourough. Planet Earth. Blue Planet. He's unparalleled in bringing natural history to the world. Perhaps, it would appear, not to the USA. Shame. You really need to watch one of the above. He's a national treasure.

Probably they are unaware of him because the American audience for his documentaries, largely do not actually hear his narration, or see David Attenborough on screen. Certainly in the past, his Series and their subsequent American DVD releases. Have previously been shown with a new narration by American Media Stars. Speaking:: ‘American!’ for an ease of understanding by its American audience. The BBC America Channel and probably PBS, broadcast the U.K. versions, for Anglophiles and others, whose ears are more attuned to the British accent and an awareness of the man himself.

Aussie here! Kangaroos have two uteri and three vaginas. They give birth to a Joey the size of a gummy bear/jelly bean, which makes its way to the pouch and grows there while all along another embryo is in reserve in the other uterus waiting for the pouch to be free for it to make its move 😂

Your research is a bit lacking , Richard and David were brothers . David is a National treasure with Nature series going back to the 50/60s and a prominent conservationist. He a!so helped shape tv with Executive roles at the BBC . You might try a few clips from some of his series which are magical thanks to his wonderful presentation style . Don't know Steve Correl but he seems a funny guy .

I know many folks have mentioned that they are brothers. But to add to that there was also a third brother who didn’t become famous and worked for a car company. I’m sure he was very successful in his field and satisfied with his life but when both your brothers are beloved national treasures it has to be pretty tough to compete.
