I was so happy to see you had this new episode! Your shawl is beautiful -- so bold and graphic and gorgeous! The Muir color, for your socks, is gorgeous too. I really may need to find some of that. It's the perfect khaki-not too green, not too yellow, not too grey shade! I just finished a Shik'is Cowl by Jennifer Berg, and a Pochie hot water bottle cover for gifts. I am almost done with the yoke of a Vanilla Heirloom pullover that I'm going to add some color work to (in the torso). I'm already looking forward to your next episode!

Wonderful idea about your scraps. I will look for the I-Cord maker but if I cannot locate one, I will reach out to get the info of where to find it. Such a fun idea! Glad to see you and that beautiful Corrie Confetti sweater. So flattering on you. About your laddering in magic loop, maybe others have mentioned them but, have you tried ChiaoGoo interchangeable needles with the red Twist cables? They are so flexible that it helps prevent as much laddering. Just a thought. I know…you already have your needles but it may help😊. As for MKAL, I put it dos to do some gift knitting but will pick it up in the new year. I am currently working on clue 2…so late if embracing my pace. Working to finish the Audrey cardigan by Isabell Kraemer before winter flys by.

1 Question, 1 Comment Bestie! 1- with your sock tubes. I know you’ve talked about them, but you cast on and do a rib then just knit the tube, but do you do a bottom ribbing at the end? 2- I totally agree with you about knitting with black yarn. I just got accepted to a cardigan test knit and I bought Mondim yarn in black to knit a black cardigan! I am so excited! (So amazing to watch you again! Also so jealous for how aesthetically pleasing your podcast is!) Also, I am going to frog my MKAL shawl…
@JonathansDays2 жыл бұрын
1 - Yup! Exactly that, cast on, rib, stockinette for ages, rib, cast off! 2 - Omg yes to black Mondim cardigan! I can’t wait to see it!

Glad to see another episode from you. I made the MKAL and loved it, but finished early as I didn't really like the duck bottom look of the longer one. I've been keeping busy knitwise, too. I'm making a Dingley Dell by Isabel Kraemer with my Advent. I love your icord scrap blanket idea. I would probably crochet something if I made them from my scraps. It's got me thinking, though. 💜

@@JonathansDays yes, it's a great vee neck tee, I have made it before, but I will still have a lot of leftovers. Perhaps I'll have enough to make another one? Advents are fun, but you really need a good way to use it or a great pattern idea. Your title for this episode was brilliant, too. 😜

Nice to catch up with you! I was working on the Laura sweater as I was watching this, it’s my favourite top down simple sweater pattern. I’m making it in lettlopi black heather this time though so I’m only about to work in it during my lunch breaks! The black sweater struggle 😅 I actually frogged my Mkal, I really liked the colours but I found the design too blocky for them…wanted something that had more integration of the colour if that makes sense (so not as many huge blocks of 1 colour). Love that wrong side sweater, your colours look incredible! ❤

Thank you much Sarah! The black sweater struggle is REAL but you will wear it tonnes when it’s done I’m sure just like I am with mine. Then you can get back to fun colours!

I got one of those icord makers years (oops, make that decades) ago. I've made sturdy cotton/synthetic cords to use as handles for shopping bags, as well as softer wool for knitting with. I even used some for one square of my Harry Styles-ish sweater. There's a video showing how to use a variable speed power drill to crank out yards-per-minute instead of inches at kzbin.info/www/bejne/g3K4qp-Qlsmmhas ... I've never tried it, I have the wrong kind of drill. Would be a great help in making enough for a blanket. You talk about yarn you've had in stash for a "really, really long time." I have yarn in my stash that I bought in the 1970s, and every decade since. I guess someday you might have some of comparable ages, when you've been knitting longer and you are leasing Buckingham Palace to store you're stash overflow. To avoid ladders when doing magic loop, it helps to change the placement of the loop by a few stitches every couple of rows.

I ended up skipping the Stephen West MKL. Gasp I know right. It wasn't my style. Nothing wrong with the pattern. Just not me. I am finishing up a surprise present for hubby's coworker and friend.
