It’s like this team is cursed. We can’t catch a frickin break. Indiana over there winning games. Other teams with first year coaches doing alright. I forgot what it’s like to feel “normal” 7 to 9 win seasons plus a bowl game I’m a DIE HARD fan but just like Graham Couch and Rube said on his pod earlier - “it’s not fun. There isn’t anything fun about this at all.” Still watching because I love my team.

I wasn’t jumping for joy when Smith was hired. I thought the Kansas, Iowa State, Tulane, hell even SMU’s head coaches would’ve been better hires. But at the same time only an idiot calls for a guy’s firing after 10 games especially when that coach inherited a dumpster fire caused by Tucker.

"Get those recruits in and feel the environment" - I'm curious how full the stadium will be against Purdue. If we're losing to Purdue and the stadium is empty by the 4th quarter, probably not a good recruiting moment for Smith. Also being a Friday game, it's harder for people to get to the stadium.

I’m a 1998 MSU alum. But I’m not delusional or a homer. Smith has a really difficult task because he has nothing with which to sell the program. Let’s face it after Tucker, etc the program doesn’t exactly have a very attractive image.
