My father died 6 Oct 2014 who lived 92 years. We weren't all that close but I tried to share music I liked. He was an old man but not a stuffy old man who didn't like hearing new tunes. He enjoyed this set of Jonathan Wilson. And that's coming from a man who thought the Beatles was a passing fad. Two weeks before he died he sent a video of the Ross Sisters dancing and singing in 1944. He said he wished he was back there. Dancing with the Ross sisters.

Discovered JW 8 years ago when I had a newborn who just would not stop crying and go to sleep. Turned the radio on, found a jazz station, listened to JW and baby fell asleep immediately. Both of my babies love his music just as much as I do. This KEXP session is our favorite ❤️

FYI, the "lame crowd" was crew members and a couple of friends so everyone relax and enjoy the tunes. BTW, this is my favorite session we've ever done. And we've done a bunch.

Awesome tonality and timing...its akin to lighting up and kicking back into the mid-1970's...a vibe that it not easy to forget, and a playing skill level that exceeds most electronics used by much lesser players in today's crowd...J. Wilson is heads above the pack in today's music...Makes you want to by up all of his LP's in vinyl...I say bring it all back...!!!

Man, this is sooooo nice!!! Finally, I ran across someone 'new to me' that I can listen to over and over again. The MIX is fabulous!!! I love is songwriting! His acoustic stuff is great too!!! Check out his album "Fanfare" if you haven't yet!!! I love 6- 8 minute songs ! Raw, real, fabulous music! VERY few out there are putting out this good of music!!!

Try Frank Marino and mahogany rush for great musicianship and long songs not meant for radio airplay. He has a tone that you will always remember once you hear it. Check out the song called he's calling or the entire live album from around 1977. Enjoy the journey!

@@Drivehead103 frank and mah rish one of my favorite groups. All time best song for tripping on absolutely anything including life gotta be “strange universe”. A lot of people back in the mid 70’s called him a Jimi Hendrix sound alike but Frank was absolutely his own musician.

Love the Angel, Bob Welch tune from his Fleetwood Mac days. All of this is great music to my ears.

Jonathan Wilsons' music reminds me of so many excellent strains of authentic music such as Hendrix, Dylan, CSNY, Eagles, Byrds, The Church, Grateful Dead and of course Pink Floyd figures in also. His music is eclectic as it gets. Big, big talent here! A true Cosmic Bandito of a musician!

It's not often something comes along and captures my attention for longer than 10 minutes however, two days ago I heard Jonathan was working with Roger Waters and so I was interested. I found his two albums and they both got played from start to finish. That never happens, even the new Jeff Beck album has still not achieved that after a couple of months. I loaded this to watch tonight and have to say, what a great band, this is so good on so many levels. I'll be spreading the love. I hope there are 5.1 mixes of Jonathan's records on the cards...lovely sound.

i don't say this many times, only in very special cases. This musicians seems to be total in love with their instruments ... and that is the reason for this amzing sound. Because a sound like this can not be played like the usual songs. They remind me a lot on the early Pink Floyd, but the music from the band here is more smooth. What makes all this even better is that Jonathan Wilson seems to be a very nice fellow ...
