It's disappointing because the church is trying mix and mesh church and the world. God said Be ye holy for I am holy. Be set apart, live sanctified

What The Church of God in Christ taught and was exemplary of was true holiness; holiness being a way of life. I know this because at about the age of thirteen I was at a revival that was held at what was then Bishop College in the auditorium, and the Preacher was Bishop F. L. Haynes (1951-1978). It was after 1971 when i had heard about being saved and I tried to be but kept failing. Bishop F. L. Haynes open the service after the praise and worship saying "God want to do something here this morning, God want to save the children". He said "If any of the children want to be saved come down now. I left the rear of the auditorium and was headed to the stage area and i beheld every child that walked to the stage began to raise their hand in praise to God, the began to speak in tongues. My thought within was 'This is too holy, I don't want to play/ backslide on this." so I made a left out the door thinking "I'll catch him,the preacher, next time. The next time I heard his name mentioned it was the local radio station announcing he had died. My heart slumped because no one ever preached with such power that when he said it was going to happen it happened. I now know that in order for the power of god to be manifest in a person's life, they MUST be living a life pleasing to God. I CORINTHIANS 4:17-20 17 ¶ For this cause have I sent unto you Timotheus, who is my beloved son, and faithful in the Lord, who shall bring you into remembrance of my ways which be in Christ, as I teach every where in every church. 18 Now some are puffed up, as though I would not come to you. 19 But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord will, and will know, not the speech of them which are puffed up, but the power. 20 For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power. MARK 16:15-18 15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. 17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. MARK 9:38-40 38 And John answered him, saying, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name, and he followeth not us: and we forbad him, because he followeth not us. 39 But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man which shall do a miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me. 40 For he that is not against us is on our part. Therefore be the best you God ever expected you to be you “Saints” of the Lord Jesus by the will of God. God bless you.

Unfortunately for me, I was born into a Baptist family. But, I am so happy and glad that I switched to the church of God in Christ in 1994. There is something about the excitement of the Church of God in Christ. The way they have their praise brakes, and the shouting. I must thank a friend of mine who went on to be with the Lord almost 3 years ago in December. Her name was Maddie Randolph. She was the first lady at Zion Tabernacle Church of God in Christ in Oakland California. She was the one who introduced me to the church of God in Christ and I fell in love with it ever cents.

Marjorie Tillman I got baptized and saved at two years old but it was at a Baptist church. Then my mother wanted my sister and I to get rebaptized again which I was 11 years old at the time. Since I am visually impaired, I’m a bit scared to get in the water all over again. I nearly faught the pastor trying to stay up.

There is nothing like the international convocations. I recommend that if you ever go to one convocation, you will never stop. The services are breath taking. You get to really see what our church is all about. Try it you will love it...

I'M COGIC as well but one thing the church don't teach no more and that is sanctification as a definite second work of Grace which means every believer need to exiperence sanctification after he/she is Saved!!!! that's what we use to teach what happened?

What was taught was legalism not Santificatuon. We are santified every day. And what we wear or don't wear has nothing to do with sanctification. It's our heart transformed for the Master's use.

How you going to break off from the church God purposed in his eternal wisdom, Eph. 3:10-11, to start your own church in 1907. Are you smarter than God? Do you have a better plan of salvation than God? Christ purchased the church, Acts 20:28, with his blood. The purpose of the church is to glorify God, Eph. 3:20-21. God has a distinctive identity and pattern to his church so that it could be recognized by anyone seeking the truth Eph. 1:9-11 and the church of god and christ think they have a better pattern? The church is a part of God's plan, 1 Cor. 2:1-10 and through his wisdom which is the testimony of God that we speak, which is Christ and Him crucified. Remember the prayer of Jesus for unity in John 17:1-21, Paul speaks of unity in Eph. 4:1-6, 1 Cor. 1:10, Phil. 2:5. I can't believe you have forsaken the gospel to follow false teaching. Please come back, I beseech you brethren, please come back.
