Very nice reaction, I love the amount of technical detail you give and how simply you explain them. The end does feel like a teaser because the title on the last page says "Next X" and the guard writes his name Tablo. He's a huge hip-hop artist, from the band Epik High. This is hinting a potential collaboration of some sorts between him and Stray Kids, which is another massive achievement for our boys' growth.
@itsjonhiller8 ай бұрын
ah, nice detail!
@MKG378 ай бұрын
Most people wouldn't characterize Epik High as "kpop," since they came up through the underground hip hop scene in Korea, rather than through the idol training process. Epik High are a Korean hip-hop group, not an idol group. Some fans (including myself) see Stray Kids' potential collab with Tablo + recent collabs with Lil Durk (All My Life) and Tiger JK (Topline) as signs that SKZ's hip hop bonafides are pretty legit. SKZ seem to have an unusually high level of creative input to their music compared to other Idol groups.
@minhoknowie8 ай бұрын
I also thought it was a spoiler too! Like in Heyday, Bangchan's line were "Legendary like tiger JK" and then they released TOPLINE which its a collab song w/ Tiger JK

There are actually a lot of Easter eggs in this that may not be obvious on the surface. Layers as always in lyrics (wordplay) and storytelling (MV). The MV starts with the security guard disrespecting Stray Kids (SKZ) by doodling all over the photo in the newspaper. Somehow that summons SKZ (using the elevator which is a common metaphorical prop in their lore). They all arrive together but then the monitor starts glitching 8 members to 1 to 8 to 1, leaving Felix. Throughout the MV I loved how they kept morphing into each other. They were only seen altogether in the lift and then the glitches ended up revealing just Felix as the doors opened. It took me several watches to realise in the lift how when Felix looks left to see Bang Chan at "Jump Force", he should've just seen himself (it's a mirror after all) but he saw Chan instead as his reflection and then both of their reflections were multiplied over in the mirror effect. To me the morphing is a metaphor for how cohesive a unit they all are, 8 individuals, but are like 1 entity all the same. "All for one and one for all". The floors they came out of the lift were all 8 or 1 as well. Throughout the MV, it seems that it is SKZ music attacking the security guard again and again. Love them or hate them, you can’t escape SKZ once they’ve found you! The final Easter egg was the second security guard who is an idol, Tablo, from an older K-pop group called Epik High. Maybe there will be a collaboration but even if not, his family is already a huge fan of Stray Kids so there’s the connection.

My favorite thing about the scene with Chan and Felix in the elevator is the little detail with the mirror. When you look at the mirror behind Chan, instead of seeing the back of Channie's head, you see Felix's. A genius touch from the director and editors!

Yeah, I also like the lyrics "first, second, third, fourth wall, we breaking them all", because, as you might know, the fourth wall is the barrier between the real and the fictional world. If characters break the fourth wall they talk to the readers/viewers or at least know about the real world.
@RockinFootball_237 ай бұрын
I wouldn't call epik high a kpop group, they are a hip hop group. They are not idols. But yeah.
@lostgallifreyan64367 ай бұрын
@@RockinFootball_23 true, but when you're talking to people who aren't familiar with the groups, K-pop gets used more as a lump term now to say that they're part of the Korean music industry, regardless of their actual genre. And an idol is just an object of more admiration or celebration (or worship) than ordinary, so any celebrity is technically an idol.

I noticed in 2 of their videos they're seated at a table with a feast that's very similar to 'The One Thing' video by INXS (a hugely successful Australian group in the 80's and 90s). One of the videos is 'Red Lights' (even some of the individual shots of facial expressions are similar), and the other is 'Venom'.

Well, I feel like it basically is a Trailer not for a movie but for like a hint to the next comeback they will be making. It's been hinted that the scene at the end with the crossword puzzle is a hint to a future collaboration with the person you saw filling out the crossword puzzle. His name is Tablo and he's a highly respected rapper from a korean hip-hop group that goes by the name of Epik High. Stray Kids have mentioned before that Tablo is one of the idols they look up to the most and that if they got the chance to collaborate with anyone they would choose him. It will be great if it really happens because this means their dream of this collaboration is finally coming true and I'm just super happy and excited for them. It's also suggested that the numbers, that Stray Kids and Tablo, start on in the crossword, are the numbers of the possible date that this collaboration will be released.
