I also was faithful for 25plus years to an emotionally ill husband but when I had to have a radical surgery that totally threw my body into a hurricane of hormones/emotions he and my 2 sons (in their early 20's) left me on the east coast to set up new lives on the west coast. It is Jesus Christ, my One & Only, who faithfully protected & provided for me. His Word, His worship, His church helped & guided me through this unknown territory of abandonment & betrayal. I call it "the Judas kiss". Jesus knows what this is like, He knows how this feels. Jesus is my Beloved, faithful & true. His unfailing love & faithfulness is true. This I know. The gift Jesus gives me. With everything taken away from me, in Jesus, I remained faithful to Him. I love Jesus for Himself; not for what He gives me or what He could give me. I love Jesus. Period. What an amazing gift it is to know this about myself. But. It is all about Jesus. As Philippians 2:13 says; " For it is God working in me, giving me both the desire & the power, to do what pleases Him." All honor, all praise, all glory are His.
