I saw this video in 2017, and wow, you guys were so far ahead of your audience at that time. This all sounded like crazy talk and I had no idea how you two could understand each other and finish each other's thoughts. I was boggled. Thank you for being patient with us as we unravel our modern minds.

I'm still struggling with this. A lot of it just sounds weird and unrelatable in terms of understanding the Bible. I'll keep trying though.

Being naked means being authentic. Being authentic can leave us feeling vulnerable. Purpose is the fruit of life but before you can find your true purpose you have to be authentic with yourself. Social pressures can blind us from our true authenticity because as we try to fit in we lose ourselves in the crowd. Attachment can also blind us. The journey from the Tree of judgment to the Tree of life looks something like this: attachment, fear of loss, doubt, denial, ignoring, ridicule, anger, attacking, embarrassment, humility, depression, courage, hope, bargaining, sorrow, acceptance, compassion, fulfillment, joy, gratitude, contentment, wisdom, love.

Fascinating discussion. I love to hear believers talk about this kind of stuff. Most shy away from it. Casting it away as insignificant. But I believe that is in some way reflective of a certain lack of wonder and amazement at God and all that he has made. A symptom of the deadness of sin if you will. I believe God meant for us to make these connections in light of His word and the created world we live in. Precisely because there are insight about Him that is hidden in these things. That are nourishing for our worship and praise to Him. The absolute integrity and cohesion of all of the physical and spiritual realities. Only points to HIM.

Working at something that connects us with a sense of *purpose* gives us energy. Working on something out of a sense of *obligation* saps our energy. In the Garden we "get to" work (on our purpose). Outside the Garden we "must" (out of obligation). The former is a blessing that gives us energy. The latter is a curse that saps our energy.

In talking about society, Matthieu and Jonathan left out one very important and basically universal aspect of society in our fallen world. Especially when he used the symbol of eating. And it’s horrific. That is war. Christ clearly rejected that when he said “my kingdom is not of this world” and “love your enemy”.
@igotwrecked2 жыл бұрын
I don’t mean this as an insult or of any hateful meaning but I’m curious in your meaning of “love your enemy”

Gen 3:6 When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. Jesus Christ, the second Adam, is our mediator between Heaven and Earth. John 6:54 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.

Is it that we have to do new work to "fix things" and be able to host meaning? If we look to the psychologic process of identification, the thought "I must work, I need to do something (about being naked)" is exactly the moment of the fall of Adam and Eve. Eating the forbidden fruit means getting a new psychological experience (to perceive the world in terms of good and evil), an unknown mental process when they were in a natural, new born state. Trying to "fix" life would be the reason to be expelled from the garden and from the company of God. A mental auto exile, like when a person gets lost in his mind and gets a fixed stare, ignoring the surrounding reality. The remedy would be doing things naturally, with an attentive silent mind, like a newborn.

Immediately my mind rushed to the Eucharist and the eating of 'my flesh and drinking my blood' (Jesus). Wow. So this (the Eucharist) is a 'new set of laws' of becoming? - just like the Adam/Eve had in the garden (in God).
@shivabreathes2 жыл бұрын
I had the same thought. So perhaps eating the flesh and drinking the blood of Christ means taking in a new set of laws and new ways to perceive reality. Normally what we eat becomes part of us and becomes subservient to us, as per what Mattieu said in this video. But perhaps the difference between that and partaking of the Eucharist is that that is not just taking in matter that will conform to our existing patterns, it is taking in a new set of patterns (?).

Eating the Fruit mean developing an attachment to your concept of right and wrong. Attachment is the eating part and judgment is the knowledge of good and evil, the Tree's namesake. Forgiveness is spitting the Fruit back up and grace is leaving it on the Tree; reserving judgment or at least our attachment to it.

The rules of the society are formed by what is integrated, not by the mind . We become what we eat. If that food is artificial so we become too, bite by bite. That is why society has become more separated from nature as our food supply has also.

thankyou for that. That's a great insight [nice and succinct].

The first 2 Temples are Grace and Forgiveness, the first 2 salvation plans. The 3rd is stepping out of the victim mindset and into the loving parental mindset where we stop blaming and start taking responsibility for everything. This is called the Christ Consciousness where compassion leads to fulfilment, joy, gratitude, contentment, wisdom, love and in that order. This is the temple Jesus built by the 3rd day. He didn't pay a debt. If fact there never was any debt. That's Bankster language. What Jesus showed us at the cross was how to overcome or "endure" adversity by viewing it through the lens of love.

Love is something we get as we give it away. We can make as much as we want. It cost nothing at all to make. And it lasts forever. But the best thing about love is the perspective it creates. Love is the lens that turns enemies into ministries. Courage is action in spite of fear. Love creates the absence of fear. Fear is cause by attachment, because fear is fear of loss, ...of those thing we are attached to. To overcome fear, become the observer.

First GOD had to give them animals kind to replace their leaves. They only could see their lower form. Adam and Eve told their sons to perform sacrifices… plant and animal. Cain gave whatever and able picked his young and best lamb. Cain was given a chance to correct but did not want to. Then Eve’s next seed started the line again. The rest of the Bible is also metaphors for GOD’S plan. All attention was on the Patriarchs but the maternal side remain hidden.

It is clearly a test of free will Cognition. Animals obey fear, robots follow orders, only Free Men and Women can disobey, and think independently. Once Adam and Eve have demonstrated they could think on their own, they were ready to be RELEASED from the Garden experiment. If the Creator wanted robots, he can make them, we can make them. If he wanted timid fearful sheep, he already made them too... MAN is to Live FREE, Liberty from domination by fears, Freedom from enslavement to orders. In this, there is no sin. Free Will is our greatest Gift.
