I know this is off topic, but if you're like me and didn't find this channel until 7 months ago, I HIGHLY suggest that you look at his old videos while waiting for the next new one. I've beenbinge watching because of the damn lockdown. I noticed his motorcycle replicabuild from scratch has comparatively low views....the work he did is freaking awesome. He melted old pistons down to make the custom engine case.....a work of art. He'd never admitit, though . Seriously, do yourself a favor and check it out. 11 videos. Just the tip of the iceberg. Sorry for rambling. Hope you find ot useful and entertaining.

That motorcycle build was awesome whatched while he was building it he’s a very smart man I don’t think ther is much he couldn’t build he’s one of them guys that was born beside a lathe he is prob one of the best on you tube if not the best I don’t know anyone that could have done that I think he knows it’s something not many people could do he does everything so it’s affordable also the man is a machine he don’t stop he goes back and forth from one project to another the funniest thing is that motorcycle was prob one of the hardest things to do but I’ve seen him were it’s easy and it takes longer unless it’s not enough of a challenge for him the ones he goes back and forth to are the ones he prob don’t really care about but he loves old machines cars truck tractors anything that moves I’m he’s got a semi a Peter I’ll I would like to see him work on that it’s a cool truck he want to put a Cummins in it it’s got a Detroit with 671;I think thaTs what it is I and a lot of others want him to leave the Detroit in it like someone said everyone has a Cummins them old Detroit are awesome but you never know what he is going to build but he is smart as a whip I should say he’s prob the only hillbillies genius I’ve head of lol and that’s not a insult

Those SS Wheels bring back memories of my aunt's 1971 or 72 metallic blue Buick Skylark with vinyl top including a factory hand-operated vinyl and cloth sunroof. It had a 350, and an automatic, and it had plenty of power! My aunt was a little old school teacher in tennis shoes, as she liked to call herself, and she loved that car. Of course, she drove it with one foot on the gas and one foot on the brake. I miss her. She was a character.

Wow. Bought a 64 Chevy 11 just like that one - same color, 3 on the tree, with a 6 for 25 bucks in 1971. Stuck a 327-4 from a wrecked '62 wagon in it. Good for laying burners in front of the high school commons. Put some 60's on it and ladder bars. Flex tube exhaust and glass packs. Don't think I had more than 150 into it when I was done. (Having a friend that worked in a boneyard helped) Times have changed

Johnathan I'd wondered last video how you'd done at the auction, sorry you didn't get the 3 window but that's a lot for a wrecked car, you do good making stuff outta that others pass off, the rambler sounded good if you'd wanted another project, and the turbo was a steal at $600, the chevyII was pretty clean and straight for $2000, just glad your happy with what you got and the more people know of you the more you'll find coming

Hi Jon, you did the right thing on those bids. I would not have gone as far as you on the 34. Usually at those auctions people have big ideas and no skills so they over bid and that puts them already upside down on the project. They picture the thing all done but don't realize what it takes to do the job. How many times have you see a car taken apart, sanded on and then left because they ran out of ambition, got lost, or don't have the funds to do it after bidding too high. You didn't fall off the turnip wagon yesterday so you know right where you need to be on this stuff. Everyone watching for a while can see what it takes to fix this stuff. I chucked when Ninna had to catscan the axle retriever tool, she's quite a cat! Keep up the good work!

Crazy price for the Chevy. Love three windows but too much for a car with a lot of wood. I think it’s for the better because you have a knack for finding those gems for a song. They can have all the money in the world, when they're shill bidders and have no intention to pay, working with the auctioneer and/or seller. I've dealt with a number of scrap yards over the years, and they've been up there with used car dealers. They came up with that term "automotive recycling" many years ago. There's a few that actually do sell known good parts. As for the rest, if they're selling junk, then they're a junk yard. Games like telling you an engine and transmission were known tested good runners when they weren't, etc, etc.... Not a place I'm trusting with an "auction".
@billg7205
@billg7205 4 жыл бұрын
@@slippedknot2001 Yep. People who have restored cars understand the principle of starting with a good shell. If that car sold for $3600, then a good shell should easily be worth $7200. At the end of the day, you spend a similar amount if not more, considerable added time and effort, and wish you had started off with a good known shell.

What was with the picture of the Chevy coupe body on a flatbed that was posted with this story? It is similar to the one in the sale, and seemed to be a similar color, but it had none of the collision damage of the car that sold so high. Was it possibly an old pic of the same vehicle before it was fixed up and wrecked?

I find that most auctions bring high prices, people geet swept up in the moment and pay more for things than they are worth just to win them.

I love it when he points the camera at his cell phone and walks and you can hear someone talking on it but can't tell what they're saying. But I find these videos interesting in general.

You have to stick to your top allowed price at auctions and if you are going to repair it yourself you have to know your limitations of ability. If not you will never get out what you put into the item. If you can then there is usually some profit to be made when selling.

I think that auctioneer owes you part of the action for running prices up! I’ll bet he’d like you around for all of his car auctions!

I wish you’d a got that Rebel, like see what you’d a done with it! I had a Rebel, 4 dr., way back in 78’- 79’??, it had a 6 banger in it, it was my Maw’s old car, anyways I took it up to Middletown Ohio and traded a buddy for a 62’ Fiat, 4 dr. 4 speed on the tree, back then I could put 2.00 dollar worth of gas in it and come to Lex Ky and back to Middletown. Oh well, pretty wild, course we was all a little wild back in those days!

Frieberger of Roadkill fame has the same M/T intake. He said in a video that he hopes to put it on a project soon because it’s just plain cool.

Really interesting, I like to see how you work through an auction, way to stick to your guns, I hate seeing people (like myself) get sucked down the drain hole.
