I guess the best way to sum it up is "I sure miss the daily video " you have so much knowledge to share with the world I get withdrawal simptoms when we go through these long dry spells. I'm a retired tool and die maker arthritis doesn't allow me to move my fingers and hands like I used too I sure miss getting out there and working on projects like you do. If you need any precision instruments I have an entire Kennedy tool box full of everything you are welcome to it Johnathan.

I've been watching your vids going on 5 years now and have always appreciated your forthrightness in dealing with your research, parts location, and dealings with those who treat you right. I always recommend your channel to my friends who are hoping to find credible guys to watch with integrity. Yep, you probably could have skimmed some cream looking for "cheaper options.". But, whether or not the guys in Iowa ever see your video, they WILL have you identified as a straight-shooter if you ever need another question answered. That's worth its weight in gold!!

Years ago we had a School Bus, a Thomas snub nose, number one ninety two in Davidson County that blew a piston on number six and ruined the block. I found an identical bus locally in a salvage yard that had been a factory test bus for stress and everything wired up all over with dozens of sensors in a Ohio test facility. Thomas donated it to a Boy Scout troop that never used it because it could not legally be titled because of the stress testing. It was bought by the county for the parts (engine). The serial numbers were three digits apart. Our bus ended in 666 and the other bus in 669 made in High Point on the same line on the same day.

Our fire department has a 1992 IH engine with a DT466 and the Allison 643. It's the sweetest running truck we have.

A few years back I was working on a 1ton truck and it was newer than the axle sockets I had, it had something different about it, I don't remember now. The parts store happened to have a socket hanging on their tool rack that looked like it should do it. After the questions and answers, I said I'd take it - because it would save me a lot of time over making one. The guy laughed, then realized I was serious.... and replied "yea I guess so" with a chuckle. A lot of people don't realize how many tools got made over the years before the internet came along and made most things only 2 days away. Back when you had to find out what it was, who made it, who sold it, and then it was still a week away. Lots of rural shops had dozens of shop made tools hanging on the wall. It's just not as hard as most of the pups think it is. Thanks for sharing

One of the biggest problems with IH was they would make running changes on the assembly line without respect to model year or anything else so you always had to have the vehicle serial number for ordering any parts. Back in the mid 1960's one of my uncles had a commercial painting operation and ordered a fleet of 12 pickup trucks all spec'd identical and when delivered he soon found from the maintenance garage that the identical trucks require 3 different oil filters, two different air filters, two different gas filters and so on. Needless to say that was the last time he bought any IH products and went back to GMC only.

So we know that youtube is a monster that demands to be fed content 24/7 (and never gets enough), and that it is a proper royal pain (and huge time sink) to be the guy expected to constantly feed the beast. Still, know that your posts are *very much* appreciated... it's always a treat to see what you're doing.

I was so happy to see your new video. Dirty hands are working hands and as long as you can clean them for when they need to be clean a little dirt is OK. This is why they make Boraxo powder. That will clean them right and find all the cuts for you. Thanks for the tip on the Jonathan injector puller.

Made pretty much the same tool back in the 90s for the DTs . 90% of the time they would come out with a mini slide hammer i made from a DT wrist pin. But there would be one that needed a pull. Love them old DTs , had about 30 in my fleet . Simple and easy to fix.

My first contact with much of your hardware, but interesting anyway. Dirty hands is a sign of something ----oh yes, you've been working on something that hasn't just come out of a showroom. Putting something together from parts that were not designed for each other and that many would not even look at is the point. GREAT WORK and thanks for including us.

I made up a bit of a slide hammer for pulling injectors out. Picked up on the injector the same way you did (I used and old injector line for the nut) but I used a piece of 15mm tube and an old Volvo truck gudgeon (wrist) pin for the hammer. Is nice when you can get to them though. Last year I changed out the heater plugs on my Ford Focus 1.6 Traci and I could hardly even see them, far less get tools on them.

I never use information from one company and use it to get bids from others. When I bought new vehicles, I never would tell any salesman what some other salesman somewhere else had offered me a vehicle for.. I worked construction and we had companies who would get bids from contractors and then go back to the contractor they liked and get them to bid less. Wwhen you work up a bid on construction job it takes time and money, so when the person wanting the work done goes to someone that hasn't spent any time or money actually bidding the job of course they can do it cheaper.
