The french swore not to give up another mile and held the Germans and their "sympony of hell" The polish commander swore not to surrender to the Germans and fought so hard he almost stopped the Germans before it became a world war. Abaddon the Destroyer had the Black Fortress, which was essentially a Death Star. The Cadians defended against him so well that he was never able to fire it. He had to crash it into the planet to win. And even then, the Gaurd continued to fight.

It is important to note that Abaddon did fire the weapon, the Necrons, specifically the Overlord Trazyn, played the biggest part in nullifying the blast with ancient pylons, the same ones keeping the Eye of Terror from expanding. On page 180 of The Fall of Cadia says "Indeed, upon discovering Klarn's (Tech Preist) work on the anti-empyric nexus he (Trazyn) had hoped to fix the tech-priest's follies with subtlety," It goes on from there describing his motives along with other things. I'd read the book yourself, even if you don't like longer books it's 100% still worth it.

A death star really isn't impressive in 40k terms. Planet cracker missiles are a thing, and there's implications that the higher tech civilisations don't kill planets because it's simply too wasteful. In fact even by 40k standards the Death Star is laughably impractical (mostly because it's theoretically dense enough to have a meaningful gravitational field, which most factions can't reliably mess with). Delaying or stopping an attempt at Exterminatus? That's impressive.

Not so fun fact: at the same time JoYo released his first Warhammer 40K songs, KZbin began recommending other Warhammer based music to me... which was all AI created. Dozens of mass-produced Songs ready to overflood the recommended area like a tyranid swarm. I really hope actual artists will find ways to still stand out, so great songs like this will continue to be created.

I played a slightly modified game of Rogue Trader (The TTRPG) with my mates, and I got to play the Seneschal, the right hand to my buddies Rogue-Trader. Made my character a gruff, no nonsense cadian veteran. He was the bloody red right hand of the Rogue Trader, always willing to jump into a fight to keep his lord safe. Together, they took on Orkz, Necrons, Drukkari, and more across the campaign. The final battle eventually came with Night Lords, and my Seneschal took two traitor astartes, as well as seven turned crewmen with a heavy bolter while shouting "FOR CADIA" He ended up getting hurled into a warp rift, but I imagine he was spit back out from spite alone

Pleade don't take this as an insult,i don't meant it personally but i definitely feel this song could be improved,how? I see he didn't sang anything specific about the planet's invasion and the continental sized battle with the black legion and imperial navy in low orbit fighting tooth and nail to buy time enough,which is understandable you don't need to know every single event in 40k's battles but i feel like at least this could have a bit more focus or detailing on everyone cries in sadness for cadia,which brings me to the second point. which is the epic adventure type beat that feels more like a helldiver/imperial guard recruitment ad than a cover on the narration of how its a tragic event surrounded by millenia of history that (in lore)will start to be forgotten without a home to archive their societies conquests
