Saw someone point out that from the start she intends to take you to be cleansed with her. Letting outsiders even enter the creche is taboo, let alone letting them take part in being cleansed. She does it anyway because she isn't as cruel as she lets on. It's just that the culture she grew up in punishes any sign of "weakness." Just gotta give her the opportunity to see that being kind isn't weak.

I raise my glass to this! Lae'zel became my favourite of the companions. She really caught me off-guard. She's proud, heroic, noble and unfaltering. I really love her!

I disagree. I did convince her to leave the cult, but nothing really came of it. She was kind of implicitly fighting with her former allies off-screen in the epilogue. She was more trouble than she was worth. The most I can say for her is that she isn't Shadowheart. Killed her off, and Karlach approved. Nothing more needs to be said about that joke of a party member.

La'zel is the companion you hate on your first play through, but seasoned players grow to love her the more they play. When she starts fiercely defending you, your heart melts for her.

I never hated her, I just didn't like her attitude and how mean she was. But honestly... I can see why she acted this way: she was terrified! She was abducted by her worst enemy, infested with their tadpole, and her existence was threatened, possibly ending in th worst way possible, and the ABSOLUTE (ba dum tss) worst way for a Githyanki to go out: spawning a new enemy of their kind

She is a githyanki with all the awkwardness of their race, with the violent and unmovable warrior behavior, but hells... Her hair is so... Beautiful and delicate somehow.
