It just occurred to me - something I didn't talk about in terms of hand-flying the Airbus - and the more accurate simulations of the Airbus absolutely reflect this - you don't directly control an Airbus aircraft - you "direct" it - using the side-stick to tell the aircraft the orientation you would like, and the aircraft then tries to achieve it. It's very counter intuitive for anybody coming from GA, or Boeings and takes a while to get used to. It results in smaller, more conservative inputs once you get used to it.

Thanks for your video. It’s really helpful. When you watch KZbinrs showing off you ask them some basic questions they usually ignore you. Again thanks for your tutorial.

Great video Jonathan. I just started FS2020 after a few years off not flying at all and your videos are a great help to get back in to it. 🙂

Excellent video Jonathan. I’m trying to learn as much as possible about flying the Airbus. Very much in the early stages as a beginner. This video will be so helpful . Thank you very much for your time and effort putting this together. Really clear and informative. Much appreciated. Regards Rob

I got the fenix but still fly this, it's a fantastic rendition, on a par with the free cessna 152 upgrade mod. Great tutorial as always.

Hi, thank you for your hard work in preparing these videos. I notice you don’t use the LS button when using ILS?
@jonbeckett11 ай бұрын
You don't have to :)

Because Jon had the EFIS Control Panel set to ILS mode (the panel left of the to FCU) the PFD shows the same basic details as the LS mode displays on the PFD. Correct me if I'm wrong, Jon! I wanted to provide grenambrose7492 with some more clarity.

Just had a question, when you land where do you go to park the aircraft and how do you know how to get there? Great video!

In the real world (and in the simulator, if you have ATC on, or if you are talking to ATC in a group flight), you are instructed which side of the runway to exit. After leaving the runway, you will be instructed to switch to "ground", and they will tell you where to go - you will be expected to have a chart of the airport. LittleNavMap, and Navigraph both provide detailed airport charts. For bigger USA airports, ChartFox has the charts for free :)

I have a question on the selection of selected and managed heading and speeds. I use a roller ball mouse, where the managed is a right click, and selected is a centre click of the centre roller. Where might I find the settings for those that you use, clicking above and below the selector switches?

I have the controls set to "Legacy" mode - where you hover the mouse over them and the pointer changes - instead of the XBox mode, where the controls glow - I'm wondering if that's what you're describing ?

How can I control Fly by Wire via the keyboard, I don't have a joystick. Because of this tiller, the aircraft moves the rudder very slowly, making it impossible to fly.
@jonbeckett Жыл бұрын
Not sure you can.

I am new to flight practices but want to know more about flight nav, navigation controls, procedures, etc. But I don't have the time or money for flight school (Im currently in school for civil engineering). I want to lean this with the intent on eventually get flight training for private license. In the meantime I want to get a yoke have fun with flight simulator. Outside of flight simulator, what resources are around for me to learn the proper practices of flying?
