Just noticed re-watching it that I missed a few things (that ARE in the procedure document) - as I said - very much a work in progress :) You can download the first draft of the check-list and CIV-A INS calculator spreadsheet from here: ko-fi.com/s/33549dc8f8

Makes you appreciate the relative simplicity of the Airbus! However, I love these steam gauge airliners. Pity this is a freighter and not a pax version. Once again J - great introduction video once again.

Me too! There is a such thing as steam gauges but what is in these old airliners is analog avionics. An Airbus has digital avionics.

Thanks for this. Ive been waiting for someone to release a good cold and dark for this aircraft

Now that I've had a few days with this thing I'm within mere inches of agreeing with you that this 727 is arguably the best plane in FS. The only thing that keeps it out of the "best" and among the "five or six best" is the lack of possible systems failures. Even a few basics, like an engine failure or a hydraulic leak, wouldn't have to be a thousand different possibilities. Just that little added spice that something COULD go wrong, just as in real life. But otherwise SUPERB. The F-28 flies like a fighter compared to this one. It does reward steady and careful flying, and similarly is easy to get behind of. Excellent effort! Thanks for your review Jonathan.

Love your video's Jonathan, said that already before... But I think you forgot to mention both Master Avionics Switches. I saw this in your previous video... :-) Thnx again for this piece of fine information..... :-) :-) :-)

It's more complicated than Fokker. Thank you.

Your cabin altitude alarm is going off at 10k' because you never turned the Packs on, and the cabin altitude is above 10k', shown on the inner dial labeled "CABIN ALT", confirmed with the outer dial "DIFF PRESSURE", reading zero.

Do You have any idea setting up the TCA quadrant for this tri-jet aircraft???? I have search but can not find any information. Regards Bjorn

i wonder if that 10k foot alarm is the last point before the plane goes above safe limits... probably a good idea on plane that had so little automation that it still has a flight engineer. also, the flight engineer is doing his stuff and that will remind him the plan is passing 10k feet. for excessive climb. perhaps the system cant automatically compensate very fast for rapid changes in altitude?

Hey Jon, do you have a source for how you put that spreadsheet together, because the result for latitude don't make sense to me. For proof: at 8:00 your initial position reads as 31°47.3" N 001°4.3" E, which is in Algeria! My understanding is that the only conversation you have to do is changing the seconds to tenths of minutes (divide by 60) so your entries would be N52273 E1403. That is also consistent with the lat/long values simbrief gives which is what other people (myself included) are using to program the INS

Figured out that if you just click on the parking location of the aircraft within Navigraph, it will display Longitude and Latitude. Just for my own analytical knowledge, what is being calculated to come up with the numbers you are entering into the FCU for alignment? Would like to know how to calc this myself. Also, just to be clear, I bought your start up procedure, like usual 😁 Thanks

Hello mate , hope that youre doing well , do you have any idea about how to unlock parking brake in HPG airbus H160 Helicopter for msfs , i'm stuck even after binding any key or even with the mouse no success , thanks for your help

You should never apply any power without checking volts and frequency. "Look before you leap" I would also note right from the start that this version is not equipped with a "flight management computer" What you have is a basic INS; probably Delco. You should also know that this MS program is set up for -9 engines just as Braniff operated. However, when it was in the FedEx fleet, it had -15 engines. Yes, I know for sure because I flew this registration. (It did not have INS)

Hey Jonathan will this computer run MSFS so I can fly to south UK where you just went yesterday morning ? Skytech Gaming Nebula Gaming PC Desktop - Intel Core i5 13400F 2.5 GHz, NVIDIA RTX 4060, 1TB NVME SSD, 16GB DDR4 RAM 3200, 600W Gold PSU, 11AC Wi-Fi, Windows 11 Home 64-bit, Thank you for the videos this looks so much fun but I dont know to much about computers.

It's adequate for 1080p. Building yourself will yield a better setup though.

This plane is good, and its nice to have it, but “best in the sim”? Not sure about that one 😁
