In case no one mentioned it, the album is based loosely around the concept of it all occurring at one house party, which is the narrative thread that links and drives it, with the songs acting as stories within it and part of a broader picture.

As you mentioned him, you should probably check out Jack Antonoff/The Bleachers' stuff - his song, "Don't take the money" is a good start. And as others have said, Rina Sawayama's album is a bop. The funny thing is Green Light was called by Max Martin being theoretically written wrong. He said the rhymes and melodies doesn't make sense and it's not meant for radio. That's the beauty of the entire record that it's so goddamn unique.

people need to understand this! when you react to Melodrama you MUST react to the lyrics! not only the instruments. because its a "lyrics" album more than a beat album. It's a journey

Great, great album from Lorde, who is one of my faves in the genre. If you highlighted her songwriting ability, and rightfully so, I look forward to seeing you reacting to Taylor Swift in that sense. 1989, Reputation or Lover would be excellent starting points. When you said on Twitter that you would be open to have a Taylor reaction, I got super excited. One thing is for sure if you do it: you will have the views. I know views are not everything, don't get me wrong, but it is a plus I guess

It’s so hard to follow up a perfect album with another perfect album and Lorde did it so well(Pure Heroine-Melodrama), as good as Kendrick Lamar (good kid M.A.A.D City - To Pimp A Butterfly)

You probably missed it on the first listen, but Melodrama is also a concept album, with the tracks narrating the story of both a party and a relationship and you can really connect them in a story that many young people can relate to

Listen to Lupe Fiasco's Food & Liquor. It was produced by Kanye West. It came out back in 2009, I believe. It's a hip-hop classic. Tracks like The Cool and Hurt Me Soul are perfection.

You should listen to the albums 'The Human Condition' and 'Glory Sound Prep' by Jon Bellion. I think you'd love both projects. The man is a genius and his sound is incredibly unique. It's so incredibly unique that many people have been trying to jack his sound and are failing incredibly hard at it. lol. Would love to see your reaction. Also, Jon Bellion is very much a supporter of reaction channels. He understands the importance of their ability to be used as constructive criticism and feedback. Give it a listen, if you can. Thanks for all the hard work, JD. Much Love!
