Because my OCD/perfectionist soul just LOVED how it looked at the end, I say good for you. That crap won't fly at my house either. We were raised poor white folk and all those snacks and candy would be gone by end of the week! We used to have to grab while we could and I would go hide my share at first of the month shopping and then space it out. I drove my siblings NUTS when I would walk out eating a cookie around the 15th and they were all like...where you get that cookie? It was my small way of payback for all the things they did...lol. I am 56 now and still hoard my goodies in various places. My brother's still binge soon as comes in the door. My kids hoard, their kids binge. Crazy how your raising really does linger on. ❤😂

I wanted that neat organized look , so I tried it ONCE. My family said exactly what you did, about the “cereal experience “. Also, if I couldn’t get the contents of the package into the cute containers 🫙, I STILL had to store the original containers/boxes. So, I needed double the space. I’m just going to sit back & admire others pretty pantries. I’m just grateful we have food. 🙏🏽 Thank you for sharing this with us. 😊

Although I’m a housewife and while I volunteer more hours than most people work. I get paid zip. We are middle-class and our house isn’t perfect, but my husband is happy to not only provide for our family, but be able to provide for the community by working so I can volunteer and help in need family members, friends, and those without either. I also figure out ways to save thousands a year, that has value too.

I have a old glass bottle shaped like a bear from the 1930s that I keep syrup in. I also have a bee hive shaped glass container I keep honey in. I have old Tupperware canisters from the 1970s for flour(s), sugars(s) and stuff like that but I don’t eat that much crackers cookies, candies in an entire year.

Actually, I do the same thing. Large packages from Sam’s need to be broken down for the shelves in the pantry and refrigerator. And yep, the syrup goes into the small container like you see in a restaurant. I’m all for it. It makes life so easy. I even have little stackable tool bins for all of the condiments my husband brings home. 😂

I was doing this back in the 90’s. All my family and all our friends would be over. Now my grandchildren all always here. It just convenient to buy in bulk, removing the items from the boxes gives you more space, and it’s more accessible. ❤❤

We keep maple syrup in the original container, which is in the fridge . We pour the cold syrup into a small pitcher for the table. The syrup is then warm when you use it. Never decant syrup ! Only red wine.

I absolutely love the organization of this and in a better world someday I might be able to do this. Right now not a chance, that syrup or honey and pancake mix took me out. If I do that now the pantry will be beautiful for one damn day. My kids will have syrup everywhere lid will half on the jar, pancake mix lid be half on lol. Snack bins will be empty all disorganized. Chile I did one time, MANY years ago. I called myself being fancy and got a glass honey keeper from Williams Sonoma. Very cute, and it had a little wooden honey dipper. It lasted a very short time before it got broken, now I just leave the honey in the bottle it comes in 🤣

I do this sort of thing for my kid (who is black lol) she doesn't eat enough but it helps for her to see what her options are so she can feed herself something for once... All these snacks are at the dollar store so it doesn't put me out too much😅

Growing up I wanted order like this. NEVER HAPPENED. but when I grew up? Baby! Organization city. I like order. And appreciate how it saves me money because I know what I have.
