I always loved your apex vids because like you and I’d assume most of us here, I am a complete nerd when it comes to movement in apex. It’s so satisfying. Before I played apex I was equally obsessed with quick scoping in cod, because well it was satisfying. So with that being said I think somehow working quick scoping into your game would be top tier satisfaction. Of course it all depends on what you plan on doing for TTK and weapon balances. I’d understand not wanting a quick on shot sniper easily accessible in the main game (sounds broken) but maybe in a specific game mode? What ever you decide to do I can assure you all us little apex nerds who are sick of the bs will play it.
@jonei2 жыл бұрын
Apex movement is waaaay too good lol. I personally started my youtube channel with quick scoping in COD so it is definitely something I love and would like to implement in some way. If you have ever tried rogue company they do a good job allowing quickscoping while still having a longer than normal ttk

"no other games come close to apex combat" Titanfall 2: hello
@jonei7 ай бұрын
While apex derives from titanfall, the inherent movement gameplay loop is completely different. Titanfall has a lot more clearly, but it's more about maintaining momentum and chaining. While apex is much more subtle, but still very technical. In a competitive environment, apex makes more sense because you don't need movement to succeed. But the best players know how to use it well in real situations. But in titanfall it's a requirement because that is literally the base mechanic and that actually makes the skill gap a probelm. That is why they differ and why apex has no other movement competitor that comes close.

@francopolo97132 жыл бұрын
@@jonei jonei bro. dont give people too much movement, one big glide that that has like a few seconds timer or is a collectible powerup and resets on touchdown and can only be done midair is good enough. that alongside sliding. too much movement becomes unskilled fiesta or toxic gameplay. u need restrictions to flesh out skill e.g. in apex movement comes from sliding on the ground, edge boosting, walls bounces and zips + air strafe/lurch. u cant just boom get speed out of nowhere u have to unholster -> run -> slide -> jump. a free big boost is just boring, placing restrictions and seeing how players optimise gameplay around these restrictions is what makes good gameplay. you would still be able to do some variation of ras strafe e.g. u would slide jump left, strafe right, boost left and strafe right. but it comes with limitations where u have to move ur camera around so it isnt as nasty but im super excited for this. have u ever played csgo surfing/bhopping? normal air strafing carries much more momentum so you dont have to spam the scroll wheel, i think this would be a good change for a movement game, but still include an initial lurch so you can redirect a slide jump. would be much more accesible while also pushing the skill cap. maybe also include controllable jump heights, e.g. tapping jump would do a "short hop" whereas holding it would do a full jump. its a simple change but introduces many more movement mechanics. just 2 heights is good enough

Yes Visual coding in Blueprint is programming, each node is written in cpp, if you open them up you can see how they actually work. It's also not hard to learn programming, if you have a logical mind, most public educations can't logic to save their lives, so I understand why most fear cpp. Also viewport navigation in unreal is based on FPS controls, aka mouse and key, meaning your playing with a controller for aim assist... DOH!

Sorry man apex movement is a downgrade from titanfall 2. Which apex came from
@jonei5 ай бұрын
I'm well aware of where apex came from and I understand it would not be without Titanfall. And yes, I agree that apex movement is a downgrade. But When I say best movement I'm not purely talking about mechanics. I'm talking about accessibility to the game as a whole from the standpoint of movement. To a general audience Apex is in fact the better movement system from that perspective. The numbers speak for themselves. Titanfall is niche. Fun, but niche. Apex has just enough flavor to it's movement to maintain a very high skill cap without causing new or disabled players grief. In Apex you don't need movement to be successful but if you can do it well, you can do some absolutely absurd things. In Titanfall this is not the case. The basis of the game IS movement, therefore you need to be good at it if you don't want to get dumpstered on. Don't get me wrong. I love Titanfall's movement and wish they'd bring it back. And it is in fact the better movement system for fans and enthusiasts. But from a business and general audience standpoint... Apex did extremely well in terms of what it was trying to achieve (easy to access multiplayer BR with high movement) and that is why they continued with it rather than Titanfall. Apex is a cash cow while Titanfall is not.
