Jones Flagship 2020 vs. 2021, 2022 & 2023 Snowboard Review

I'm a minute before buying one, but I'm not sure what length will be the best for me I'm 70-72kg, 41.5 shoe size, 169cm, I ride everything, curving, powder, riding switch, jumps on the slope (also rails and boxes in the park, but this is not the board for that 😂) and tricks on the snow, I really like riding fast In the beginning I thought to go for the 154cm, but now I'm not sure if the 158 will be better, now I'm riding Rome mod rocker 153 I will be very appreciate for your help, thanks alot 😊

You know this is more of a traditional freeride board you shpuld ride a little longer so I would go 158. That being said not sure if this right for you. Maybe the 2024 Stratos 156 that has a little less chatter might be a better call. Or the 156 Yes PYL or 156 Lib Tech BRD. What would you say is better for carving this or the PYL uninc? Is the pyl uninc as good in choppy bumpy snow? Im looking to buy one of these two boards to pair with my shadowban and add to the quiver. Are they both much stiffer than the shadowban?

The PYL Uninc is better for across the groomer to circle carves and the Flagship is better for more down the line high speed carves but both can do either. The Flagship is better overall in uneven snow but the PYL Uninc is only a little behind. Yes both are stiffer than the Shadowban and ride very different so they will be a good second board in the quiver. It just comes down to what appeals to you more. Is the Flagship and BSOD fairly comparable? Im looking for a fast, carvy, turner that can handle bumpy snow well.

Not really. Very different. BSOD is much more like a non-tapered all mtn ride vs. the pretty tapered, directional Flagship with set back inserts. If you ride powder a lot and want easy float for sure go BSOD. If you ride switch more and like a more centered feeling ride go BSOD. Both are pretty good in uneven snow but the Flagship is stiffer and has better construction to handle uneven snow.

Thanks for a great chanel with great reviews 👍 Im thinking about buying a flagship. I have found a flagship from 2017 and Im wondering how big diffrence it is between a jones flagship from 2017 and 2023?

Many thanks! Yes lots of nice upgrades. Set back inserts and more taper for better pow float. A better flex and overall construction for all conditions riding. Not quite as damp at high speed but way more fun to ride all day and it still bombs.

Iam ridning a capita doa 2020 today and I what to get a better freeriding / powder board. Do you think Its a good choice to buy a Jones flagship 2017 for 194 dollars or should I look for somting else?

If it fits your specs that could work for the price but the newer Flagships are a better all around ride.

Probably the 154 if you want a board that has control similar to the DOA 152 but more float and speed. 158 will be a little big so only go that route if you want a bomber. You can turn it with your 9's and 170lbs but it's going to feel really big based on what you are riding now and for your height.

Hi I've got a 2021 flagship I found the stance way too wide would I be better just setting it back a bit and have it about 22 wideish

Yeah thats a great plan. Setting the front foot back to get a 22 inch stance width is a good call.
