I fully agree with this review. I broke in half my NS Funslinger, one of the best boards I've ever had. I like that kind of board for all mountain: soft but poppy, which it's something difficult to achieve. I don't know how NS does it, because they are unmatched at it. Anyway, a friend who works at local shop told me "dude, trust me, try this one, you're gonna like it, it's your thing". I was reticent because I have tried a lot of Jones and I didn't like them, but it's nice when a local shop lets you try the stuff first. He was right, the board is awesome if you like "noodles" but you need pop and like to go fast many times. As I said, that is not easy to make, and although NS is still the best at it (in my opinion), this Tweaker is awesome. I bought one after a couple of days riding it, and it's super fun. The NS was fast AF despite being a 153, and the Tweaker is 154, so again, I agree with you here, is not a fast board. But again, NS does fkg magic, it's another level. But the Tweaker deals pretty well with high speeds. It's true that is surprisingly poppy for its stiffness, but I'd like a bit more, just a little bit more... I think that the next thing they could do, is make it slightly asymetrical, or slightly wider than a regular board, as the Funslinger was. But anyways turning is great, easy, and you can be pretty aggressive at carving and ollieing signs easily if you want at the same time. I also agree with the last thing you've said about the directional trend. I fkg hate it. Nowadays every board has to be tapered. It's a trend, just like some years ago, when all the banana and rocker fever exploded, when we had like 3 seasons in a row that was almost impossible to find a classic camber anywhere. Everything was flat or rocker. There's this channel that also does reviews, and in a live chat like a couple of years ago I asked that I was observing how brands were making more and more tapered boards, even 100% freestyle/park focused boards (in theory), if he thought it was only a trend or it was something to stay. He only answered that my question was stupid... A great way to make fans and subs lol. Anyway, I love tapered boards, like my Arbor terrapin and my K2 splitbean, but I also love twin shapes, or at least not so directional as they are making now. The Kazu Kokubo is a great example of what I like for a directional board. I had a Nitro Überspoon and it was a fantastic board, and beautiful I may say. (As you see, I like stabby tips lol, another thing imoossible to find nowadays, everything is either square, or ultrafear-ish). It's just I find idiotic to sell something like the war pig as 100% freestyle, with that shape. I think it all started when people started to upload videos with vintage boards for fun, and then they started to make fun silly boards like the slush slasher, and it became cool. Anyways, that's just my opinion and we all have one. So yeah, the Tweaker is a great board, but needs some improvement here and there, but a great great board. I am very happy with it. Well, thanks for the video!

Thanks for taking the time to add your detailed take and your comparison to the NS Funslinger which is pretty close to the Protoslinger these days. Very relevant and helpful to the readers. 10 years ago I was dying for a directional board to ride. Now I'm stoked when I get twins. As a quiver rider I love riding/testing all types of boards and hope to see more line diversity throughout all brands.

@@thegoodridesnow Nah, thanks to you for the videos. Very informative. I've just remembered a good example of the directional issue: The Salomon sick stick at first had a stabby tail, just like the nose. the board was beautiful. Then this trend started and they changed it, and now it's how it is. I hate it so much lol. But again, we all have different tastes.

Thanks for your review! Every time I've purchased a board before I read your review on your website, I just discovered your youtube videos today and I appreciate it. I wanted a true twin park-oriented freestyle board that you can still take all mountain and was originally looking at the Capita DOA, but while researching boards I came across this Jones Tweaker and it sounds like what I'm looking for.

Thanks. This is a really fun board. So is the YES Greats and Ride Twin PIg. I really like the Capita Indoor Survival too but it does have a lot of camber. If you want to get into it more, hit me here to give me the info I need to help you much better. shop.thegoodride.com/merchandise/gear-advice/

Saw they have a tweaker pro this year. Super keen to hear how that rides. This looks a bit soft for me, but if it was mid/stiff looks pretty sick.

Asked to test it and hope to get one.

The new tweaker has a flex rating of 4/10 compared to last years 6/10. Wonder if they made the tweaker even softer or if they just regraded the stiffness now that the tweaker pro is supposedly an 8/10. Any thoughts?

Man, even Jones snowboards says that this model is softer between inserts and has a stiffer nose and tail. This is the key feature of this board, which is why it is stable and playful at the same time. And when you bend her it is noticeable to the viewers. It's strange that you don't notice this on a snow and when doing a flex test in the studio
@thegoodridesnow Жыл бұрын
Yeah I missed that and thanks for pointing that out. One thing though. Stability does not come from a flex pattern like you described above. That comes from the camber profile. That is why the lifted sides (part of the camber profile) make it less stable and it can wash out on a butter. It can also feel a little less stable in harder snow with those lifted sides.

@@thegoodridesnow 👌🤜🤛 "That comes from the camber profile" - I completely agree. I mean, thanks to the softer mids, he's more playful than many other cambers.

Agreed. Very fun playful poppy flex.

This is my favorite board. The most fun on the mountain for twin riding.

I’m only buying this if it comes with a coupon for some free meth 😂. Jokes aside. Good review bro but I’m 6 1” 185-190 9.5 boot and there’s no chance I’d be in the 156. I demoed one and overpowered it. Size up people unless you’re using it park only. 159 for sure Especially if you’re a giga chad weightlifter etc .

Yeah mate. I think that they wanted to test how it was going to be received by the riders, giving the fact that the hardcore park rat doesn't buy Jones (usually). I think it has been sold really well, so probably this next season will come in more sizes and even wide.

YMMV - I'm 6ft 190lbs and found the 156 fine
