I would take 'bakagajin' advise! If that is not possible just going to have to keep doing your own trial & error on the river along with research on websites like flyanglersonline and troutu (Trout University). I also learned alot of things from checking out many fly fishing books at my local library here in Utah.

Best advise i can give is join a club or try to get to know some fly fishing people in your area. You'll start learning fast then. Don't give up, fly fishing aint easy.

If you are fly fishing for trout, look at these 2 videos and buy the proper flies accordingly. /watch?v=qrtEHO8IyHk and /watch?v=uDLVMEQBSSQ Should help you understand how to go about targeting trout as they ca be tricky fly fishing sometimes. Basic rule of thumb is make your leader the length of your rod, no need to stagger with different weights, for trout a max of 6lb test would be fine. Tie on the fly you want to use and make sure you're using the proper technique for that fly.

i bought a fly fishing pole a year ago and since then whent fishing like 70 times maybe and i have not caught 1 fish i fish the rogue river in oregon usa and idk how to rig my pole cant find anything that shows me what bait to use how to do it i use liter line then a nymph fly and nothing happens
