Great in-depth analysis as usual, for once you made me take a game of my wishlist instead of the other way around, so thanks for that :)

Ha! That wasn't my intention but I'm glad I can bring some balance to a board game abused wallet :)

Jon, another amazing review, your structured points are amazing. Yeah, there's just something about the theme and mechanics that just doesn't really grab ya, i keep having to pay attention when hearing about this game because my mind drifts... I hear ya.

There's a discount of this game in one of the online boardgame stores near me. I am glad you made this video, help me a lot in deciding whether or not to buy the game. Thanks!!

This game suffers the same thing as The Captain Is Dead, too much for what it is. In fact, TCID is the best co op game made. Hopefully one day more people can see this when the game gets to a reasonable price. Great video!

just ordered the game and am reading the rules online. Really appreciate your play-throughs and reviews! I am confused about your negative point and your variant. Did you suggest to not have any negative points from remaining resources OR just 1 negative point per resource currently in your storage area? i.e. you didn't collect any resources left on your building sites/exploitations and instead left them out on the board? thanks for clarifying!

I'm really sorry but it's been so long since I've played this that I genuinely don't remember enough context to be able to help you out here :(

As I mentioned in a tweet, this game seems fine, but way too expensive for what it is, a light euro. I know Space Cowboys makes attractive games, but this seems too steep - $51 online, versus, say $26 for Oceanos, Imhotep, or World's Fair 1893 or $20 Animals On Board. This isn't really about Asmodee limiting online discounts - the MSRP is $20 higher for this than those other games. Given how many good light games we've seen this year, I see no compelling reason to get the one that's much more expensive than the others.

A very interesting point, I honestly rarely think about the price point on games and its NOT because I get so many free copies. I paid FLGS retail price for this, so probably ~$60, but I guess I'm so used to spending gobs of money on games that it didn't phase me. I should keep this in mind, it's a valid criticism for the rare times where a game really does seem to not reflect it's price.

JonGetsGames Absolutely. I think price point can turn an otherwise good game into a flop.

Very good video. Question though... Is this game really "Brass" boiled down?
@GettingGames

Unfortunately I've never had a chance to play Brass, so I can't give you any point of comparison. I know it is a drastic simplification of the "train game" style play of laying track and moving resources around a board but I have essentially no experience with those actual games.

I was going to knee-jerk say that it's absolutely not like Brass. But the more I watch, the more I can see how you might be able to say that it's a re-theme and tweak of Brass.

When I was taught the game, the teacher called it "Baby Brass". I've played Brass a few times and the feeling of semi cooperating with your opponents to complete your buildings and working on a network does feel similar.

I didn't hate this game, but feels like it is missing something substantial.
