I admire the clean way you explain games, Jon. Really, really helpful!

Thank you so much for this playthrough! I had this game on my shelf of shame for years, couldn't grasp what was going on. Now I'm on to my second game, thanks to your crystal clear explanation and gameplay. Such an interesting game, I'm very intrigued by it.

I have looked at so many videos that purport to showing people how to play this game but then fail to do so due to either proceeding too far too soon or not being precise enough in their explanation. So thanks Jon. Your explanation is clear and explains each nuance completely as you proceed. Keep up the good work! Your tutorials are always 1st rate.

I recently bought this game, and after watching your playthrough, I have now completed my second play. This is just an amazing game, and it was so much easier to get in to, thanks to this video. So thank you very very much for the effort, even if it was all the way back in 2018. :-)

I love how just clever this game is in terms of design. The gameplay is unique with how you lay out cards to take actions but allows for strategic play in which ones you put in a group to get back sooner. It's also super thematic in that when you accomplish a mission you've earned that character's support for your 'faction' and how somebody gets hospitalized after a scouting action representing accidents that would happen. What really impressed me by just how clever this was in terms of physical design was the resource wheel where you just put cubes on the parts to represent you having those resources, so much easier than having over half a dozen different kinds of pieces. Excellent playthrough as always.

"Now, what's going on in this game is... [glibly mentions theme], but what's really going on here is... [in depth analysis of mechanics]" lol love it!
@GettingGames6 жыл бұрын
Hehe, yeah I almost redid the intro because I was worried I came across as too cavalier there. Even the rulebook doesn't try to reinforce the theming, so I just went along with it and emphasized it's mechanics.
@joellen59842 жыл бұрын
This was so helpful! I had read the rulebook (which was pretty clear honestly) but I need to play along to cement the rules. I was able 100% to do this and play my solo game (1st of the campaign) - doing my own thing - but watching how to play and I came away also with a 109 point game. Outstanding! Great, clear and concise and just in time. Always a winner. Thanks!

Thanks again Jon, you really are the best for tutorial and playthrough. I learn Project L, Maracaibo, spirit island, Gloomhaven, great western trail and Blackout. I will watch next Cloudspire, Vast, Coimbra and Gaia project. Hpoe to see Root sometime. Thanks

Thanks for the playthrough. It says Skip to next round - 1:4 at around 1:35:55. According to the round transition, it should be 1:48:40.

Dang, that's annoying. I double check ever time stamp before I render, somehow this missed even that precaution. Thanks for pointing it out.

Great play through, thanks. I saw the green player cheating in the deploy phase of the 5th round. This deploy phase starts at 1:19:46 in which he deploys a single red, a single yellow and a double blue volunteer. Cubes are placed on the wheel ending his deploy phase at 1:20:25. But then this same deploy phase starts over, but now the green player deploys a single red, another single red and a double blue volunteer. Cubes are placed on the wheel. The cubes from the first deploy are gone. Ending this phase at 1:21:03.
@GettingGames6 жыл бұрын
Ah, good catch. I hate it when this happens, it looks like I decided to change up how they were going to do their turn but accidentally left the first deploy phase in the video instead of deleting it. I've added a correction into the Klingon subtitles about it.

When you have 0-4 cards you may refresh your hand, it's not mandatory. And also in the planning phase you can put up to 1 card per slot.

@GettingGames6 жыл бұрын
@@Zacht1980 Yep, it looks like I changed my mind about how the green player was going to play their turn and then forgot to delete the first draft deployment from the video itself. I've added a correction to the klingon subtitles, I hope this doesn't confuse too many people!

Doesn't a probe action require a search rating of 4? At 20:20 when you were explaining it, you quoted a probe is a search of 3

Woot! Been waiting for new videos :) Will you be attending PAX South 2019 in January? (Even though it won't be too heavy on Tabletop?)
@GettingGames6 жыл бұрын
I haven't ever been to a PAX actually, and at this point I don't have any plans to. They do look like a lot of fun, but I do try to prioritize tabletop oriented conventions since I can only travel a few times a year.

I have a question, I see you finished a distrit exactly where the green player had finished before, you supposed to count that district as yours or not??
@GettingGames5 жыл бұрын
Do you remember at which part of the video this happened? It is true that a cube on the board can be scored multiple times when multiple regions it is adjacent to become completed and scored.
@brandonasosaaponte3035 жыл бұрын
You completed the district at 2:12:14
@GettingGames5 жыл бұрын
@@brandonasosaaponte303 Ah I see what you mean. Since that district scored already, the white player does not get any benefit for fully enclosing it later on.

Turn on Klingon? Like Star Trek klingon
@GettingGames6 жыл бұрын
Exactly. KZbin doesn't have a built in system to allow notes to be put into previously published videos so many boardgame video creators have now taken on the convention of using the "Klingon" subtitles and put our corrections there. The thought is that essentially no one actively uses the Klingon language so we aren't stepping on any toes there, and it lets us fix mistakes that invariably make it into our videos (despite my best efforts to avoid them).
