Jonghyun definitely has one of the strongest voices in the whole entire kpop industry. I've liked kpop for over six years now, I've seen all old bands and now the news ones and let me say, no one has come close to how beautiful Jjong's voice is. Idk, there are so many kpop idols that are so good and have strong voices, but I can't help but prefer Jjong's voice...there's just something about. Something so unique and just so amazing that makes him stand out from all the rest.

When my boyfriend left me and I was so depressed I couldn't do anything but lay in bed, I discovered Shinee and Jonghyun and would play this song on repeat at night as I slept. I felt better and was able to get out of bed and move on. It got me through my depression. I just wish you had something to get you through. I'll miss you.

I'm new to K-pop in 2019. I stan NCT. I watched NCT Taeil's cover of this song and loved it. That led me to this video and another video compilation about SHINee crying over Jonghyun. I didn't know. Now I know 😔 Watching this I cried. He was so talented and loved. I hope Jonghyun, SHINee, all fans and everyone affected have found some peace and comfort through the pain. RIP.

Vocal fireworks -- and always only for the service of the lyric. Jonghyun had only one aim when he sang and that was to express emotion and never to show off his one in a million voice. This is what separates Jonghyun from so many other singers who are merely technically at his level -- these singers, unlike Jonghyun, preen at narcissistically at their own talent and convey little of what it is to be human. Jonghyun used his talent to explore emotions and to reach the hearts of others -- in a sense it was his way out of loneliness. He blows me away. He had a soul as deep as the ocean -- what a beautiful man he was and what a tragedy that we lost him. Love him always.

Holy fuck this man can sing. I did A&R for a few years, I've been listening to all kinds of music for over 50 years, and he's one of the most amazing singers I've ever heard. He mixes his registers beautifully, and he has one of the most powerful voices I've ever heard. That power gives him outstanding clarity of sound across his range, which is really--really--flexible and nimble. He really knows how to make that voice do phenomenal things. He even knows how to cover up his mistakes well (@1:25, @2:50). If I had anything to critique him on it's that he needs to learn how to focus just a little more so that he can stay in key. Every now and then in performances he loses control, and that ruins what is otherwise an outstanding sound. Some of his focus problems could be fatigue, though. I know the labels work their singers to death in Asia, and it's hard to stay on top of your game when you're drop dead exhausted.
