gotta say, Jimmy’s a much better interviewer in this clip than he’d been the past 5 years. Barely interrupted, kept his laughter to a minimum, actually had a couple decent jokes, flow of conversation actually mostly unforced… Keep it up Jimmy!

After seeing several interviews with the cast of CODA , it seems that Marlee and the other deaf actors that she was working closely with as well they are cast as her family, really took her under they’re wings so to speak and encouraged her, helped her with the ASL , etc . Young 17 year old girl at the time of filming …

FYI: CODA - Child Of Deaf Adults also means, the end or towards the end in a musical piece or song. RUBY her character is ending a chapter of her life & beginning a new one as an adult. Singing was her escape or outlet living in a family who are hearing impaired… that later slowly became her passion.
