if i get too many art that i make to have room for also i think good idea is to take matte photos of them at least before painting over, in case i regret it or only for not as good of ones, in case still usable to get copy of for something else later..like can market some simpler not as elaborate art on mugs or keychains or in small copy art posters whatever..if not as sellable as larger canvas style

It must be so nice to know who you are as an artist. 5 years in and i have no idea who or even if. I have the skills, but finding my own style and compositions is not happening! I can't seem to grow beyond tutorials 😕

You’ll get there!! Sometimes journaling and writing down what you like and are drawn to can help. I recommend taking breaks from tutorials and trying intuitive painting once in awhile Lisa. Over 20 hrs ago when I first began, there was no KZbin and I never followed anyone, I think this helped me develop my own style. Xo

Question Joni- you advised on a tutorial to use Gesso to prep! How long do you recommend I wait between Gesso and starting the painting. Obviously i touch it to see if it’s dry. But do you recommend waiting a certain amount of time?

I do want to mention that I use gesso to prime my canvas with before I begin my painting. You want to apply 1-2 coats and let dry
