Thank you very much Jon,I have been following you for a long time. I would like to go back to my country and what you are teaching us on KZbin. My uncle bought a piece of land that the local authority said is not good for building because of water flooding in the raining season . Other people have accuied licences and constructed retaining walls. My causine who is the care taker of the property is using the settled water for his vegetable garden. My uncle has lost hope for building because he hasn't got the money for a retaining walls. I wish I will go back to construct a pond for fish.

Hi Jon. I absolutely agree with your last statement. Also the water in a pond soon becomes supercharged with life and provides the perfect water to feed the soil in your veg garden every garden should have a pond. When I was growing up in the city we only had a 4 x 4 concrete yard but I built a 1.5 m x 1.5 m pond. And on a sunny day even though their wasn’t much space, our neighbours and family would always congregate around the pond and even in the city the pond was full of life and brought joy to everyone. years later I now live in a small village in the the countryside and I’m planning on building a large pond similar to the one you have shown Thank you for sharing your thoughts and ideas. I feel we are kindred spirits :-)

I totally agree with you, sir! When i was a kid, I often went to the pond near my house to catch some small fish. It was interesting and more relaxing than any activities.

8:43 and 9:26 - I believe you didn't mention how one can prevent having problems with these two plants. Or the problem with these two plants can be prevented by simply not letting them get out of control / removing them as soon as one sees first signs of them? Or are there specific ways of how to prevent them?

The pond can be covered by trees there is no problem but not cover with water weed like water hyacinth or anything floated on the water. It is very hard to control them if they take over the pond the fishes will have not enough oxygen and more water snake will come.

Your soil can be too loose .You can try to let it dry up and mix the mud at the bottom of the pond then apply those mud around the edge of the pond very thick then fill up with water before the mud dry . This technique will help some.

I saw that fast has a time , but when i found adding a lot of mineralled water tot he foods as i cook, n ot just the bottled water straight form the bottle to the table and then to the foods i add a mulitmineral tablet cheap or rich and vary the amounts and try make the minerals i need and plants and animals need to grow, but soon you will see you will not need food as much as before because the food you ate is better than fast foods. The hunters don't arrive but maybe say hi. I spend today cooking foods i might throw ,that has been in a way a mistake as that food is liked by another. A tree or a worm ? i can eat , but if i Choose not to eat that for me is better. drink the mineraled water or be hungry both options are good ways to laughing .

How do prevent a pond from leaking when you don't want to use plastics and don't have a clay soil to work with? I've heard some things about plastering with ducks and/or pigs, anyone with experience on this?

Pigs for early well for this. There are also products that you can buy and sift into the pond- powdered clays etc... that will help coat and seal up areas that are a problem.
