I live in Southern Utah, my family has been here for 50 years. I was looking at the history of St. George and they ran water to houses in the open ditches until 1936. They had the drinking hour from 5am to 6am in the summer and 8am to 9am in winter. Animals would die in the ditch and poison the people. All originial people were sent from Salt Lake by the Mormon leadership to settle the area. My point is that they couldn't manage water they couldn't manage these buildings.

I spent a great deal of my life as an LDS , Mormon . Just a fact of my history. We were encouraged to study the history of the “ pioneers “ they even celebrate Pioneer Day JULY 24 . I was always struck by how they would just need to work very hard on simply feeding themselves, in the high desert , finding water to drink, staying warm in the winter . It’s a harsh place . A few thousand people did all this ? The tabernacle built well before the temple is amazing inside . They say the interior columns are made of wood , because ; you are going to love the reason they give , there was not enough stone available! These “ wooden” columns are painted to appear as stone, why bother ? I think the rough blocks outside that you show were added later . I think the roof was beautifully cantilevered like a mushroom.

They say Brigham Young and a small group of his followers arrived at Salt Lake City in 1847. Many of them died along the way from starvation and the bitter cold. According to that plaque, within 4 years they had successfully petitioned Congress to have the railroad pass through their city. Those early Mormons were really on the ball back in 1848. You wouldn't expect a group simply trying to survive to also be so politically active.

Jon, I too have often wondered in my teenage years (I'm 48 now) and grew up in St. Louis Missouri where there are archetechturally ornate. St Louis has a bizarre history also. It's astonishing what little is left of the 1904 WF. I now live in Tacoma and have lived in Seattle and Everett. Seattle even has an "Underground Seattle" tour. Back in the 1800's the city of Seattle slid into the Puget Sound and the buildings that remain are few but look totally mudflooded. Great work my friend. Thoroughly enjoy your presentations.

You would be amazed with how much looks like carved wood that is actually plaster/cement work. They used linen, wax, and sand to make molds. I used to have an antique mirror that I thought was csrved wood. It fell from the wall one day and I realized it was plaster work. I remember years ago watching a TV show where they were making moldings from plaster by filling a mold and then running a cut out shape all the way down basically peeling away the extra plaster and shaping it for the entire length.

Here's some things you're missing in your assumptions: The Mormon pioneers arrived in Salt Lake Valley July 24th, 1847. So no, they didn't petition congress from the wagon train. The Rio Grande building was a train depot as well, and is now actively open to the public as a little museum. The Transcontinental Railroad was not finished in Salt Lake. The temple's construction was from 1853-1893, so it took 40 years, not 10. Yes, the Tabernacle was completed before the temple, being built from 1863-1875. The stars on the East side of the temple are in the shape of the little dipper and north star. The sun/moon/stars represent the different degrees of glory in Mormon belief of heaven. Also, the temple is used every day, all day, hosting hundreds of ceremonies. The Joseph Smith Memorial building is dominantly used as office space nowadays, but it was completed in 1911. By then, the settlers had been in Utah for 64 years and the mining industry was bringing in thousands of visitors from all over the world. They weren't "primitive people" with oxen and wagons by then. The "cheap sign" in the center is carved into the structure, original to it, and laid in with 22k gold leaf. That's all!

@emac1177

@@kybalion848 My experience before I left was that very few knew that their temple ceremony is related to Masonic rituals. There have been a few books and articles written about it, but they aren't read by most members. The church has admitted to the connection recently, but most members don't know about that either. When anything is ever said about the subject the story goes about like this: The Masons had a distorted ceremony passed down from Solomon's temple. It lost its authority and truth and when Joseph Smith became a Mason, he saw the distortions and went about to bring the "true" ceremony back to the earth.

It's not that they were maintained better, these buildings have almost no finishing work done to their exteriors, there's loads of stuff missing because whomever was building them never got to finish them. That adds a further air of mystery :)

Jon, have you seen the new “construction” that’s going on at the Temple? I went not long ago and you could see they were digging really deep down! And there was still more of the building!! It was really interesting to see that the building continued downward despite it being previously “in the ground”

Hi Jon! Great work. Love it. If you get the time look at Ludwig the second, the fairytale king. Who, seemingly, was building the castle that Disneyland is inspired by. Just look. With your knowledge you will quickly see what that story really is telling. It is German history, but you will see something that will amaze you. Garanteed :)

Stunning architecture! At 9:21 are those the nubs aka proterberances on that wall? The one where you say it looks like little stars? This is very exciting! These nubs are all over the world, particularly in Egypt and Peru. Was that particular wall held together without mortar? Also, the part where you saw different types of stone could mean that section was built from ruins of something else. Even if it was, the effect was really pretty. I think that it's possible that there were several different eras in which this structure was built, beginning with the section with the nubbed wall. Then, another era using stone from other places or a ruined part of the structure. It was mudflooded at some point, and later repurposed by the Mormons. It's a really magnificent structure, or set of structures added on to over many eras. This could be extremely ancient! God bless you, Jon! Thank you! ❤️❤️❤️

We have a " Ashton Memorial is a folly in Williamson Park, Lancaster, Lancashire, England built between 1907 and 1909 by the millionaire industrialist Lord Ashton in memory of his second wife, Jessy, at a cost of £87,000! Oh yes 1 single man for his dead wife! AS you do? Copper topped domes and most of us remember all the fountains working! Thank you again John!! Really Amazing!

@@lexlogan29 Masonry is more closely associated with Rosicrucianism and Jewish mystical Cabala,and was actually changed in symbolism and allegory to Christian symbolism from Jewish symbolism to make it more palatable for English masonry.Knights of malta and other orders have similarities though suposedly arch enemies of each other one being Roman Catholic and others deemed protestant.they are all truly more mystical hidden knowledge based and may have had some influence from garden of eden information from God but hardly represent anything of the God of Adam and the Gospel of Jesus Christ or Israelite hebrew knowledge except for so-called hidden mystical knowledge from any recently Mentioned information bases..far more to do with Egyptian mystisim then anything taught by Jesus Christ

I love the way you document you experience of seeing the city with new open eyes or seeing certain things as if for the first time. I love it mainly for the fact that thanks to newearth and your channel I've also been having the exact same experience but with me it's Chicago. I've lived here for 20 years and now when i drive through the streets it feels like i've been in a coma and eyes closed for all those years. The amount of no doubt older than claimed architecture here is mind blowing. I plan to document it as well since there's so much in Chicago and is no doubt a much much much older city than the official story claims. Right now i'm just taking in the city with new eyes and taking pictures and video. The whole thing is mind blowing. Thank you for your work!

Those old mercury balls are found on most Tartarian buildings. Also they were used towards the top of those "flag poles". I see them in the most unlikely places. Just today, down at the local mud flood gathering. up the block is a restaurant. A restaurant in one of those old quant brick buildings with an large antenna with a mercury ball on top. Nobody see's this, nobody see's what I see. Are we the strange ones ???
