That was a well made video!! The camera work, voice volume, & speed, and painting were all very nice. GREAT JOB!! I know that for some people, it makes it easier to follow along if I list the number of steps at the beginning and also number them as I go (7 steps, 1st: pre-prep, 2nd..., then here in step "x" we are...). Thank you 👍👍

Beautiful paint job for a beautiful house! Very fitting. Before watching this video I didn't realise how much work goes into painting a whole house! I would've loved to have seen a little side by side comparison at the end to easily see how much better it looks now without having to go back to the beginning.

Que buen trabajo te felicito buen tip el de usar elastomatic voy a probarlo , una pregunta , usas tips FLAT o usas RAC o REGULARES en la imagen como que vi flat , quiero minimizar el overspray en mis trabajos
@ABNPainters5 жыл бұрын
Question: “What a good job I congratulate you, good tip, the use of elastomatic, I will try it, a question, use FLAT tips or use RAC or REGULAR in the image as I saw flat, I want to minimize the overspray in my work” Answer: Overspray is the same. We use flat tips because they cost only $3 and we buy brand new tip for every job. It gives us nice spray pattern every time. The only downside I that the paint needs to be strained really well or the tip will get clogged up often.
@maikk38165 жыл бұрын
El flat hace menos overspray dura mas el tip , pero tienes que colar la pintura .

How quick elastomeric patches dry? So we can prime and paint. Thanks
@ABNPainters18 күн бұрын
It varies with thickness you apply it and air temperature. I would recommend giving it 24 hours to dry before painting.

Great job! I'm glad I found your KZbin page! On that house what did you charge the customer? 5-6 grand? Also, when the stucco body and underneath the eaves/fascia are two different colors, what do you do? Which do u paint first? Do you guys use shield or masking paper? Some spray stucco first, and then after it dries, run masking paper a foot down and carefully spray the eaves..some spray eaves first then mask eaves the spray stucco..curious what you guys do for fastest and best job..thanks man
@ABNPainters8 жыл бұрын
"Some spray stucco first, and then after it dries, run masking paper a foot down and carefully spray the eaves" -that is exactly how we usually do it. As for the price I think it was right around $4500 but not sure as it was done a while ago.

How much bucket of paints would it take to paint a house that size?
@ABNPainters10 ай бұрын
I don't remember how much paint it took for this specific house, but whenever we need to calculate the paint for exterior house painting we usually buy 1 gallon for 100 square feet. If it is 2000 sf house we would buy 20 gallons and that is for 2 costs of paint.

Do you use any detergent when you pressure wash the house? And what is the name of the detergent if any are used?
@ABNPainters8 жыл бұрын
We do not use any detergents for pressure washing. There are a few benefits of not using any detergents: Plain water does not kill grass/plants. No need to worry that if detergent is not rinsed off properly the paint will peel/bubble/flake a few months after painting. If we ever need to use detergent it would be “Liquid TSP Substitute” but usually for pressure washing we use only water.

Looks like the first thing to do is to buy miles of covering clothes or paper to protect the driveway then add small pieces to cover over an infinite number of other small protrusions that you don;t want painted. Also buy a sprayer, hoses,paint, brushes, and all the other attachments. Wear disposable clothing and ..have fun cleaning it all up after a looong job

If I want a paint job to last 15 years what paint would you recommend?
@ABNPainters8 жыл бұрын
In Arizona the paint does not usually last that long without fading. Spartashiled by Dunn Edwards is one of the paints we suggest using for someone looking for the longest lasting results.
@bojans19378 жыл бұрын
What is the life expectancy of that paint?
@ABNPainters8 жыл бұрын
You should expect to repaint the house on average in about 10 years if you are using Spartashiled. It is not only the quality of the paint. A lot depends on the colors that you are using as well. Neutral/light colors will last longer without fading. Dark/rich colors will fade faster.

How much paint do you for the stucco on a house of that size?
@ABNPainters4 жыл бұрын
for 2 coats of paint we usually use about 1 gallon for 100 sf. This house looks like about 4500 sf so about 45-50 gallons.

So why elastomeric patch is better than dry lock?
@ABNPainters8 жыл бұрын
Elatomeric patch is thicker consistency and it makes it easier to apply. It does not drip from the brush, as drylock would. And it also seem to dry harder than drylock. But that is just personal preference. We used drylock for years before we started using elatomeric patch around foundation and it worked just fine.

Can you use satin finish on the exterior stucco?
@ABNPainters8 жыл бұрын
Is there a specific reason you are thinking of using anything other than flat paint?
@RAPraveen8 жыл бұрын
Someone told me it is easier to clean.
@ABNPainters8 жыл бұрын
As far as easy to clean I am not sure if it would help much on stucco. We use satin finish for exterior doors sometimes and it does make it easier to clean. On stucco we only use flat paints, as any kind of repairs that you are going to make before painting (fixing any cracks or holes) will show a lot better with paints that have gloss. If the house needs no repairs it still may highlight all existing imperfections on exterior. Besides looks another important reason not to use glossy paint is it may trap moisture and the paint may not adhere well. With flat paint it is never a problem.

It is better to use 5/15 size of the tip for the stucco.
@ABNPainters8 жыл бұрын
With ‘5 size the fan is 10 inch wide and it does allow for spray painting body faster but it is a harder to paint under the trim with fan being that wide. Stucco on this house is smooth and the 13 size works great. There is nothing wrong with using 5/15 tip but on most jobs 4/13 is what we use. It is a little slower than with larger tip but more precise.
