I suffer from deep depression. After watching this video i wrote a sentence on a paper and glued it to the wall over my bed. The sentence is: "When do i feel most alive?" And now im am about to leave the house and find out. Thank you. You woke me up! Edit (29.07.2021): After feeling depressed and anxious again I came back to watch this video, beacause I remembered what it ment to me back than. And here I am staring at my screen, because over 9600 of you liked my comment. I am completly overwhelmed, because so many people could relate to what I had written! Thank you all. A minute ago I was in such a bad mood and now i have a big smile on my face.

@wearealltubes when im sad getting slapped by someone close to me is the last thing i want. Ur advice could only work for people who choose to only lay in their bed because they are lazy, not for people that feel tortured doing anything else. If the person making the original comment is actually depressed, he should figure out whats exactly bothering him. Alternatively, whats lately popular, try going on a elimination diet.
@Al_Gonzo5 жыл бұрын
@wearealltubes no, you misunderstood me. You say that someone with a real mental illness can be cured with a few slaps in the face, i say its really unlikely and should be avoided.

@wearealltubes oh, yeah. Sorry, my bad.
@christopherwilson65275 жыл бұрын
wearealltubes biggest load of bull. You’ve obviously never been depressed, lucky for you. When does a person “acting like a real depressed person” become an actual depressed person? There are no indicators. People have it in different ways and at different severity’s. I know people that were severely depressed and they even contemplated ending it all, they were the happiest looking, friendliest, helpful, healthy and actively fit people i know. Luckily got the RIGHT help and advice and turned their mental states around. Its a mental illness, not an act or a simple illness that you fix in a day. Lazy is completely different to depressed. No one needs a stick if they are depressed, what a stupid thing to even suggest.

Its actually not that crazy of a thing to do and has been around quite a while, you might feel bad at first but you can easily adapt to such temperature for a certain while. Just look up Wim Hof, the guy climbed like 2/3 of mount everest in nothing but boots and light sport shorts, he also was in the Polar Ocean for a minute without his body temperature changing. (He also succesfully teaches others how he does that, there is an interesting Vid on Yt to that topic) Or in Iceland its tradition at many places to take a dip in the ice cold sea water after a workout or any kind of heavy work. people adapt to the cold pretty well, the biggest failure most do is breathing wrong and getting emotional. Just relax and take the moment in, take deep breaths and realize youll be okay. As for the history of Iceland, the first settlers there were Norsemen ("Vikings") who havent really had any strangers for neighbours for a few centuries, the Icelandic language even still is almost 100% proto nordic. So many of these views and traditions come from some of the most native branches of germanic people there are, all this has been around for a long time.

As a Tropical Asian, seeing this is just amazing, I've never experienced winter in my life and probably will not experience it soon. This is all so magical, it's something so different from what I know of nature and it's just a fascination, an itching curiosity to me. Great video!

I live by Chicago in the United States and experience our four seasons. The winter is a special thing, I think it balances a person out. It’s a hardship we all go through, it’s really cold and the days are short and you have to consciously stave off depression. But I think it builds character and gives people a sense of humor. You also get to experience the loud silence that’s caused by a snow storm. When it’s all over and the first sunny hot days of spring happens there is an insane amount of happy energy everywhere

I once. Slowly walked into a glacial lake. I swam slowly, then my skin began to burn. I suffered the transition to numbness to the cold. As I climbed out and rested on the natural granite dam of far northern California's Grizzly Lake, I realized that I have a human body. My heart began racing as the cold was entering my core. I knew that at that point my heart could begin to fibrilate. So I lay still as my heart raced, knowing to not make any sudden movements. My skin began to burn as I warmed. For some reason there was no shivering. Death felt so close. I knew I had to just be still. And calm. After all... My body is just a body and it isn't magic. I'll never forget that feeling.

You couldn't have expressed it better, and this is exactly how I feel too. "Life truly begins outside our comfort zone" is the perfect phrasing for something I was trying to find the right words for. I live in Southern France, on the Mediterranean sea. Many people think that living there is heavenly because it's always sunny, it's not too cold in the winter (it gets really hot in summer though I hate it), and life here is overall comfortable. But I've felt more and more... bored of it? There is no challenge, no freezing cold nor snow that gives you constant challenges in life. I dream to live in a place with the cold, snow and these daily challenge like what you face in your videos. It gives so much more life, to life. I've recently started going into icy waters every morning and it makes me feel so alive. I love the cold.

Benefits of cold water immersion Reduce stress: One of the benefits of doing this ‘‘crazy’’ thing, as some of us might describe it, is that you will instantly feel happier and more energetic. Exposing the body to cold temperatures reduced the stress hormone, cortisol, and increases the feel-good hormones, endorphins. Boost your immune system: Doing cold immersion therapy two or three times per week, you might notice that you aren’t sick as often. Studies are still inconclusive on whether or not cold immersion therapy prevents illnesses, but it’s suggested that the cold temperatures contract your lymph vessels. This contraction, which is typically achieved via muscle contraction, pumps lymph fluids throughout your body, flushing waste, bacteria and microbes out - essentially cleansing the body. Reverse inflammation: As we mentioned above, athletes do a lot of cold water immersion. This is because, after a training session, muscles get quite swollen from the increased blood flow and torn muscle fibers. The cold water lowers the temperature of the muscles worked and constricts the blood vessels, helping speed up recovery time and bringing instant relief from the numbness.

I could feel my body freeze.... then suddenly I open my eyes and everything around me is a winter blue... then I close my eyes again and i see a forest, a winter forest I picture myself walking in the forest... suddenly I hear howling and I start running then I see mountains and a beautiful frozen lake... my heart was pounding... then it all came to me.... I was lucid dreaming.... then I suddenly see a shadow, a wolfs shadow... I stop, and I can’t move, like I’m petrified, then the wolf stops running and starts walking. I feel the ice melting under me, suddenly I fall into the cold water but the wolf starts running again, as if it wants to save me... then I felt my body freeze, just like me the feeling I had before... the wolf grabbed my hoodie and started pulling me out of that lake... then I feel something cling onto my leg.. it was a mermaid I shake it of, the wolf starts pulling me harder...... then I wake up...... was it a dream...?
