What a lovely Rover 200 indeed! 🤩 I have one of them 'Small Rover Boxes' and still to this day haven't got a clue what it was FOR !! 😂 Fingers crossed it goes to an enthusiast, and He or She will keep the 200 on the road 🙌🤗

I’ve got the MG little box. Came with Wetleg. It’s for the lift out security panel on the Phillips 22DC741/60E onboard gramophone that was OEM on some MG/Rover models in the mid to late 90’s.

200's seem a really quality car, a forgotten little gem that people brushed aside in favour of more 'trendy' badges. Nice to see a base model survivor too as they get used and abused more than the range toppers.

When I was a teenager, an early teenager of around 13, 14, perhaps 15 but I think it was 13 or 14, could have been 12 but anyway around that age there used to be a thing called the Video Shop. In our case it was also an off licence with what felt at the time to have a huge selection of beers, wines and videos but having been in there recently after not going in there for ages it can’t have had a huge selection because it’s a very small shop but it felt like it had a big selection. They had both VHS and Betamax before eventually phasing out the latter and all the big movies of the time. Rocky 4, Cobra, Robocop, National Lampoon’s Vacation and also on the top shelf a series of videos that spring to mind on hearing the name of the colour of this car. These films had naughty ladies wearing very small clothes that were forever falling off and they were also called Electric Blue. I wonder if the Head of Colour Names at Rover was a fan? My friend rented one because he looked older than me and they didn’t know him in the shop and it was quite intoxicating viewing so it’s perfectly possible.

Single cam 1.4… rough sounding but reliable. My mum had (from new) a silver 5 door with the same lovely paisley seats. The locking / alarm / immobiliser scheme was mental.

Whoever get's this Rover will be a gem. Just have to repair where the sunroof is, it is leaking, most likely an easy fix. 48,000 miles, barely broken in!

Takes me back to when these cars would typically be advertised as 'Rover 200 bubble shape' . Now that's something you seldom hear any more. Now here's a possible video idea, was the 'new' rover 200 R3 actually an improvement of the old R8? ... and ... while we're at it, why did the R number go backwards? While on the trail of the unexplained, perhaps the video could aslo address the strange mystery surrounding Johnny's lower half apparel! 😁

I remember that too. The codes didn't go backwards, but I am unsure of their reasoning. The 75 is the R40

I've got one of them small Boxes too 🙃 ! And have been trying to work out what it was for. But I now know !!!!!! It's for me, Twix of choice LEFT OR RIGHT, both Chewy and delicious! 🤣🍫🐻
