Zeromus's theme has always been my personal fave final boss theme in FF cause it really emphasizes that this is really IT. The fate of the world is in your hands and the only thing in your way is this monstrosity. All the other boss themes have better tone & fit the boss character but for Zeromus it's not about the boss, it's about the fight.

Zeromus's theme hits a perfect middle ground between intense and hype. It's like if you mixed a FF final boss theme with either final boss theme from Sonic Adventure 1 or 2. Songs like One-Winged Angel and Ardyn's theme basically tell you, "this is the last part of the game, and it's gonna be the hardest obstacle yet," while Open your heart & Live and Learn tell you, "this is the last part of the game, you're almost there!" Both of them and a lot of FF final boss themes really fit their bosses, and I love the songs for that.

Ah yes, I remember beating this guy on the DS version and being pissed you couldn't get Golbez as a party member after. Zeromus's theme is intense as hell though, I always remembered that about it.

There is a rom hack out there for the original Final Fantasy IV, which is II here, that lets you play as Golbez. One of the party members gets relegated to being an NPC, but it makes it possible to play as Golbez. But if that's not your thing, there is The After Years.

@@stickybird9725 My music's going okay; I'd certainly say I've improved. And yeah, Soken's remix was honestly kind of strange imo. Hell, he even got a few of the notes wrong, which I'm sure was intentional given Soken's level of skill and mastery, but I don't think it came off the way he intended. Just made it sound kind of amateur. That's not to say I could do better, but I mean...come the fuck on, it's Soken we're talking about.

As for Soken's remix, that's a pretty big contributing factor I wasn't able to put my finger on until you pointed it out. It might have also been the expectation of a over the top orchestral remix when we got a more electronic sounding one. I will say the Red Wings remix during the final stretch of the fight was amazing though.

Dude, you get it. For real. Every rendition of a game song you cover fully captures the original mood, cadence, and instrumentation of the original track. You fully translate every song you cover into your own style while completely respecting the composition of the original. Even MORESO than even official artists. The FF14 raid theme fails for a simple reason, during the part where it's just the striking stinging callback to the 4 fiends theme, even Square Enix forgets to echo the melody behind itself, but you remembered. You knew it was a very important part of the song. That's what I've always respected about you. Keep up the great work. I hope for nothing but the best.

I am near the finale for act 2 of AR Tonelico Melody of Elemia, and like ever Gust game I question how hard the superbosses are going to be. Cause right now nearly every fight is such a cakewalk that it is embarrassing. The boss themes are jamming though.

YES! My favorite final boss theme of all time! Hearing this theme for the first time through my GBA speakers on the FF4 Advance version stuck with me forever. FF4 was my first traditional RPG I ever owned, aside from Paper Mario, but its special since I bought it with my own money after watching HCBaily's playthrough of the SNES version. So this song just brings back incredible memories and an unforgettable ending.

This was my first Final Fantasy I played and beat (nearly 2 years ago at age 38). The music was great and memorable the entire game, but this final boss experience was a whole new level- the whole setup/ flashback scene before the boss, Big Bang and the scramble to recover from it, and the MUSIC! How long have I waited for this day? I couldn't hit the download on the early release of this fast enough. FF4 has some great music, but Four Fiends and the boss theme always get the love. Every other remix of this seems to be missing something crucial. DS version felt muted on the bass and drums, Dissidia was alright but still felt like it was missing. Pixel Remaster felt muted in place of having the choir noises. This.. the bass is crunchy, the drums are loud, and the organized chaos that is the rest of the song fits perfectly into their lanes. You did what a lot have failed to do. You remixed it while keeping the soul of the original in tact. Something you have almost always done, unless you intentionally changed things up to make it interesting such as turning the Gerudo Valley intro into a tapping onslaught. Bravo, good sir. You have an exceptionally happy fan at this point. I loved every second of this. Thank you for your amazing work.
