Every year on (or in this case, around) my birthday, I make a completely biased song choice to GaMetalize.
When I remade my old Forest's Mushrooms cover a couple of months ago, I realized I've hardly done any full Super Mario RPG songs (not including the mega medley, of course), despite it being one of my top 3 favorite game soundtracks.
So I decided to use my birthday pick this year to pick up that slack!
I was a little late this year (my bday is actually on July 1st), but I hope you enjoy it nonetheless. :)

I love how the leitmotif of this song is emblematic of the Smithy Gang as a whole, how it’s used for “Here’s Some Weapons” and the opening to Smithy’s theme. Pretty standard for vgm, but still something I never get tired of.

I've been playing SMRPG since I was 6 years old and I never quite put that together. I don't have much of an ear though. I just realized like three weeks ago that the melody from the jungle level of DKC is used in the cave and minecart levels haha

@@richarddavis8863 If you ever played Donkey Kong 64, you might appreciate this. Every individual level has its own melody, and they reuse it and remix it for every area of the level, including the bosses. There's some commonalities in which instruments you'll hear in similar areas (like against the bosses), but they're still all unique songs. I never really realized that until I listened to the game's entire soundtrack on youtube.

Yeah the Fight against an Armed Boss is basically the Boss Theme for the Smithy Gang Bosses. The other Bosses are Fight against a somewhat stronger Monster!

I can just hear Exor being clean swept by a perfectly timed Geno Whirl, which is actually the only Boss of the game affected by the Instakill timing if I’m not mistaken. Kudos on the work Johnny! Maybe in the future we’ll get Fight Against A Somewhat Stronger Monster if possible.
