You need to be flicking your late flip tricks much earlier. That's a breakthrough I struggled with in late flips. Almost as soon as you pop you need to be initiating the flick. Makes the trick look way better, and it's much easier. Don't wait until the apex of your ollie to flick the late flip, flick on the way up. Requires insane control because it's so foreign.
