Next: Jonny Giger is re-doing P Rods' Nollie Late-Flip Crook. 😂😍
@brandonritchie1066 ай бұрын
Nah that’s a PRod trick, the problem is no one besides him can do them good I bet, Paul has master late front foot flips, it’s so delicate and graceful, it’s just a flick, and even tho Jonny is beast at late flips, don’t think he has one that good and popped that high to get into crook p, plus the speed yo7 have to flip the late flip, but not push it down to far to miss the ledge,don’t know if that trick will be done by anyone else in a while, but who knows, Jonnys beast he could pull it off with enough time maybe

THANKS , after more than 20 years without a real skateboard, at 50. I got on a board 2 weeks ago... Well, contrary to what people think, what's missing the most is knowing how to fall... It's really scary not being able to have the reflexes to react well on a board when things go wrong.. But frankly, doing a little frontside on a mini ramp is already super enjoyable, or just a flip...
@luckyleo886 ай бұрын
I'm 36 and I just got back on a board after almost 20 years. I just fell hard on my elbow while doing a fakie backside shove it. Gosh it was painful and took a chunk of skin at the tip of my right elbow alright. It seemed like when I fell like that in the past, it was nothing!

@@luckyleo88 Every year older ya get after about 25 the concrete gets a few percent harder every year. 😂 It seems to be a thing lately that old guys (36 is ancient asf lol) are getting back on boards or just starting to learn. I've been watchin a 53 now 54 year old beginner and giving him a few tips. I quit at like 32 cause my backs wrecked from shitty jobs but I'm considering getting back into it. I was just gettin friggin good when I quit damn it. But I did an ollie like 5 years ago and I still had it. It was a decently high ollie......But I put my friggin back out lol. I'm 46 now and the Dr's and my masseur/ physio guy tell me I'm not old yet but my 80 yr old body begs to differ lol. But there's a new park in town and I'm hangin to skate it. So maybe I should go for a role around the bowl.....and hope I don't die. 🤷♂😂

Did ya ever do any martial arts? They were always good for learning how to roll and do break falls and all that good stuff. Even if ya didn't maybe get ya self a mat and practice rolling and falling to train ya self to get used to it again without doin it the hard way.....literally lol.

Or even join a martial art like Aikido. It's not exactly the best style for actual fighting but it's great for rolling and falling. 🤷♂

Hi Johnny my name is Brian I've been watching you're channel for years. Not sure I've ever commented before but figured I would now. I've been wanting to tell you about a exercise technique that I figured out really helps skating. I imagine you may do some strength training and stretching and stuff already. What you should try is called leg presses and hip flexion. In the U.S. these are available at most larger gyms. If they're not in Switzerland you can do the same with weights and resistance bands. The Leg press is like how it sounds pressing weight with legs like jumping straight up. With that exercise you want to do it with about half the maximum you could do and when you press the weight do it explosively as if you're popping you're trick. You could possibly do the same exercise with Squats or Dead Lift with weights or training rubber bands but the leg press machine is probably best. You can figure it out from there. With Hip Flexion that is more easily doable with bands though if you have access to the machine/hip flexion equipment try it. With that exercise it's basically standing and bringing one leg outward sideways. Like kicking for a kick flip or Ollie (without jumping) Do that exercise with the same about half as much weight as you can do maximum. Do it in the same "explosive" sort of way just as if you're doing a kick flip. I had started doing these exercises after I learned about "muscle memory" and my skating progression (at least in how big I could do tricks) increased more in two months than it had in the previous 2 years. I'm by no means a great technical skater but my trick height at least doubled in that 2 months. I would have kept skating but dislocated my ankle which took a year to recover from. (My injury was also from skating very though) I skated much since. I skate hard now because of work and need to stay physically able. You though Johnny you're a professional skater. I think you're one of the best skaters in the world at street type skating and would be super happy if you would give a honest hard go at the exercises I mentioned. Be careful though and looking forward to seeing the evidence in your future videos. If you have any questions please ask. Have a good day dude!
