Prepping for your SFAS pt test (before you enlist)

So are there pull ups or chin ups for the sfas pt test? I thought it was push ups, sit ups, 2 mile and chin ups/pull ups? But obviously I’ve never been so you would know more lol

No, there are no pullups in the sfas selection test, but you will have them in airborne school, which you do first, so make sure you can knock out some solid pullups.

I’m currently in the process of enlisting my recruiter offered me an 18x contract because he said they were all out of 11x with the option 40 I’d honestly rather have a shot at rasp before I even decide to go into SFAS just so I can have a bit more insight and mature a little during my military career my question is if they really are out of option 40 what would be an alternative infantry mos that would give me the opportunity to volunteer for the regiment as an infantry man preferably an 11B without the option 40 I scored 83 on my asvab and I have a gt score higher than 105

I think you have a solid plan and already know what you want to do. You tell that recruiter your not gonna budge until you get what you want, and walk out. If what he is saying is true (which it may not be) i guarantee he'll be calling you the second he finds an option 40 open up. Don't let the next 3-5 years of your life get changed by someone trying to make there monthly quota.

@@JohnS677 update on how it went today we sat down asked him for the option 40 again told me there really wasn’t any available I settled for just an 11x contract no airborne no option 40 he said I can volunteer for it at osut gave me a 75th ranger regiment recruitment card as well should I still play hard to get and call him tomorrow lol

@@josehone8498 yeah man, i still would stand bye what i said. If you call the Ranger recruiter just make sure you stick with your 11X choice cause he's gonna try to convince you to pick up a support MOS probably. Lol

just wait till october. its the start of the new finanical year, every year. its the month jobs open back up. they will be flush with 11x op 40. also, why 11x? why not just choose 11b or 11c???

What did you get reclassified as when you got dropped from basic?

Thankfully i passed basic, airborne, and SFPC. But after failing Selection i was reclassed to a mechanic

Why did you end up as a mechanic after not getting selected? I thought non-selects went 82 airborne as a 11b.

It changes all the time. Sometimes you go infantry, but if there are high needs that aren't being fulfilled then you are at the mercy of the army

I was a mechanic. My contract ended and i didn't reenlist for personal reasons
