Anyone here own a folding piano? I honestly didn't know they existed until making this video. What a wild world we live in!

I guess there just isn't enough of a market for that, but I'd be willing to pay for a foldable 61 key piano with very light action and solid sound samples, one that you could use to travel with and would be OK to perform with in a low stakes scenario. One can dream.

Thanks for the info. I’m a trombonist and my daughter is learning violin. I bought it because we have limited space, and I want to teach her some theory. It doesn’t need to be great. I just needs to be good enough, and able to store away. I think for the money, it’ll be perfect. I’ll find out in a few days. 😎

Hope it works out well! I think it should suit your purposes just fine. :)

how does it behaves as a midi controller? I was wondering that would be more useful...
@great-garden-watch10 ай бұрын
Bought finger ballet. It’s probably the same Got it for grandchildren (very young) because my daughter didn’t want to commit yet to taking up the space for a piano. Seems excellent for young kids to learn on. Pretty much full size keys. Sound could be better but the kids won’t know and they can hook up speakers in the future. Yup just looked. Same piano as finger ballet. Bought white for $122

The distance between the keys is the same as the traditional piano right? Does it feel the same? Sound quality wont matter if im using it as a MIDI right

I don't know why, when I read "folding piano" I thought the keys would be foldable but this is probably much better.

Hello! Do you know if this is the Upgraded OYAYO Foldable piano? or the 2023 version (older model)?
@HurriedDragons9 ай бұрын
I believe this is the old model, as I see two rows of buttons next to the volume wheel at 0:25, but pictures of the new version on amazon only have one row of buttons

does it have local sound off so that you don't hear the folding piano when connected via usb to an ipad or computer? or can you just turn it all the way down and still transmit midi data over the usb port ? my folding piano won't do this!

Hello, would you say this be a good piano to start learning to play? Was thinking this be the ideal piano with the very limited space I have.
@JonPumper11 ай бұрын
I think it's perfectly fine as a beginner piano, and yes, great for situations where you don't have a lot of space! It is super light and gets real compact.
@sergeiparajanov10 ай бұрын
I got mine so I could practice when I travel or I'm in a place with no piano. It doesn't feel or play like a real piano or even like a good electronic one so I would never use this as a main piano or to learn on. It will be my emergency piano lol. If you haven't got much space get a decent electronic piano with 88 keys.

Are the keys a standard 23-24mm width? I ask as I had bought a keyboard a while back to use when I wanted to practice in a room other than where my piano was and those keys were a bit narrower at 20mm.

Thanks for a great overview of the Oyayo piano. One question, does it have a sustain pedal or the option of plugging one in? Thanks.
@JonPumper5 ай бұрын
It does come with a sustain and has a port for it!
@sergeiparajanov11 ай бұрын
I just bought one, the "2023 upgrade", but I'm wondering if they sent me an older model. But the back panel of mine is the same as yours. The panel on the one Angelo reviews here on YT has a DC12V input and a 3-pedal port which you and I don't have. Angelo's also has a single row on buttons, while ours have a double row. The question: do we have the newer or the older model? They're fairly different. And the new one's supposed to have a better piano sound.
@JonPumper11 ай бұрын
Hmmm good question. I think we have the newer one? His video appears to have been published two months ago, and I think it would be odd for them to have sent us an older models The USB-C port seems to me like it would be a newer feature, and not one they would get rid of when upgrading.
@sergeiparajanov11 ай бұрын
I returned the one they sent me and got the upgraded newer model. It has a single row of buttons and a three pedal input on the back. If you have a double row of buttons That's the older model.
@Osama-wj5gn9 ай бұрын
The one in the video is PJ88C which is the older model, the newer model is PJ88D and has more features.

Another question: I read that the keys are somewhat smaller than on a regular piano, in one review I read 16.1 cm for one octave in stead of 16.5, do you know if that is true? Sorry to bother you again!
@JonPumper9 ай бұрын
Hi - this is a good question! I don't actually know myself, though this could very well be true. It didn't bother me when playing if it is, or at least wasn't noticeable to me right away.
@pokuspilatus10 ай бұрын
Thnx for the nice review! I am looking for something to keep on practicing my classical pieces while camping. Do the keys make a lot of sound, like if you're hammering on something?
@JonPumper10 ай бұрын
No, I don't think it's a super noisy piano in that way. You won't be able to get a ton of dynamic nuance out of the piano for your classical pieces, but it would be fine for keeping sharp on the mechanics of the piece. Another thing to note is that it can hold around a four hour charge, so you would need an electrical supply at some point, either portable battery or some other solution (depending on what type of camping you do).
@pokuspilatus10 ай бұрын
@@JonPumper Thnx, well I am mostly hooked up to 230V, so that would not be a problem. I noticed that you have similar ones, such as vangoa or Axel, but I get they all have similar dynamics. Well it is for practicing, and it is way much smaller than my very old 61 key yamaha keyboard! Thnx for helping!
@ShanMichaelEscasio8 ай бұрын
It sounds very karaoke-midi-ish. But if it has a usb port and can be used as a midi controller and just for studio use, who cares how that sounds? I just want an 88 key controller for my piano pieces. Lol. So what usb port does it have? USB-B?
