As of october 2024, the xeno v3 app and soundboard work phenominally. They have done many upgrades to ignitions to burst white upon basic ingition, change ignition timing, and so many blade styles too. Ghost blade with a crispy fint is crazy cool

Someone may have already said, but Proffie has an edit mode directly on the hilt now. In the newest versions, like 6.9, all you do is long press both buttons with the saber off. You can edit everything right there. It's great. Also, 7 is going to have an insane amount of upgrades. It's in late-stage beta testing now.

My personal favourite has always been the Xeno V3. It has the feature of changing everything from color, font, ignition, etc. directly from the hilt like the Neo while having the ability to change quite a few hidden features (via the app and not having to deal with the coding complexity!) like the Proffie. Most of the lightsabers I do have are Xenopixel minus one of them being a proffie and most importantly IT DOESNT BREAK THE BANK like the proffie does. In most cases there is a $100+ difference between a Xenopixel V3 and a proffie. I have a dark Rey double bladed lightsaber coming in next week and it will also be a Xenopixel V3 and I’m so excited. My final saber that I want to get eventually is a Count Dooku Xenopixel V3 lightsaber but they are upwards of $500+ which is so dang expensive just for one singular saber, especially in comparison to other ones. My dark Rey lightsaber cost about $70 less than that and I’m getting two whole blades for the price of a dooku lightsaber which is ridiculous.

Finally, a dude who speaks my language! Incredible video man. Couple of questions if you have the time. I essentially want a blade that I can drag/drop or copy/paste fonts on to. I will not be doing heavy customizing/coding, so i definitely think I am leaning towards Golden Harvest. 1. Is the quality of a GH board equal to a proffie such that smooth swing, accent swings, response, lighting, sound are all identical? Or does proffie have the edge on this? 2. Similarly, it seems that you can install proffie files onto a GH board. So, if I wanted to purchase a font off of Kyberohonics, for example, would that font have identical quality on the GH saber as it would a Proffie saber? 3. Any particular, reputable sites to look at for GH sabers? 4. Seems that GH comes preloaded with lots of content already. But let's say I want an Anakin EP3 hilt. Will it have that font from the movie on it already or is that something I have to search out? Thanks a million man. Really appreciate it in advance! Super excited about this!

Well the 3 big manufacturers when I made that video, it’s an older video, no longer offer GH boards. The 2 main boards of their own they push are SNv4 pro and Xeno v3. Both have great phone apps to use and customize. SNv4 can also download loads of blade styles and quality of sound if far better than the Xeno v3. GHv4 is coming soon but I do not thing TXQ or Nexus manufacturers will be offering it.

For me, I'd want to know which one is the best sound quality and sensitivity of the effects. I dont even care about the color changing and all the crazy crap. Just look and sound realistic, and be the color I want it to be when I buy it.

GHV3 and Proffie are the best sounding of these options but if you want the better sounding sabers then none of these. Xeno would be at the bottom of my (sound good) list. You need to look in to saber trio, 89 sabers, Korbanth. Things like that with higher end installs. Look for Lager 28mm speakers. My best sounding saber is my Korbanth kenobi. Thing is a monster.

I really do miss the simple design. I don't understand all the changing colors. I'm considering getting a Xeno3 core for my main lightsaber to replace my SN4 just for the accent swings and the iPhone app looks great. I sent TXQ a message asking if they have any plans for accent swings in a future update, but they didn't seem to understand. Furthermore, I saw a video from reseller demonstrating what they called "accent swings" but all they were doing was showing off the regular smoothswing. I'm beginning to feel that the SN4 board may not be capable of triggering accent swings similar to how the Xeno2 couldn't. One thing I did like about the SN4 android app was how in-depth you can edit the fine details of blade effects.

FYI, I spoke to TXQ a few times in the past weeks before and after making the video and they have confirmed there sn4 has accent swings. Even sent me a video. A few of us had a long video chat just yesterday and some of us kind of got it working but it seems very hard to hard. They need to do a bit of work on that board.

Which would have the most color variation? I have a GHv3 and I know you can add color profile, but getting a true white has been challenging to figure out.

Out of the box Proffie, Xeno and SNv4 all have a full spectrum of color that RGB can produce. I have never fully seen real white one anything. I seem very very close to white but when you hold that next to real white light you can see a different. The reason is it’s RGB. There is no real white LED it’s a mix of red green and blue so it’s always kind of on a blue ish hue. I wish I could wind pure white LED blades. I know I can custom make them but just wish they were a simple option as an alternative blade to buy.

@@TheCollectorsOutpost With my golden harvest hilt, I added a white color font to it, but when it’s on, it’s more of a bright amber, however, when it does battle clash, it can produce bright white light. Even more so with certain ignition types. Curious what would be the color code to produce such a pure white light

What about Crystal Focus (CFX)? It has a phone and PC app, and a ton of features including a programmable ignition. Granted it has been a while since I messed with saber boards, but last I remember CFX was the top end.

The blades honestly can take a beating. But keep in mind each blade is about $130 give or take and I’ve broken a few of them pretty easily just due to a flaw in the material or that specific run. But light dueling should be OK. But they can take a pretty good beating

I noticed Vader Sabers no long offers Golden Harvest for the Boone Kestis saber. They have SNTC in place of Golden Harvest. Do you know if vader sabers stopped carrying Golden Harvest?

The main manufacturer of some of the sabers (TXQ) no longer offered Golden Harvest. Trust me that news upset me and Vaders Sabers. The GHv3 was my go to board. TXQ did that so they can push their own board SNv4.

I don’t have any and CFX don’t come In Any of these mid range sabers that are made from TXQ and LGT/Nexus sabers. Also GHV3 no longer is offered in them any more ether. Sad.

For technical proficiency: (1) Newbs who are scared to tinker and brick their stuff should go for the SN Pixel, (2) intermediate users who want customization without doing programming and using simple batch/initialization and drag drop file features can utilize GHv3, (3) advanced users who want complete customization/programming and all that technical babble to feel superior, but are actually grown up adults who play with light-up swords like me should go for Proffie.

Couple of the mean factories are no longer supporting Golden Harvest in favor for their own boards like the SNv4. So I’m not sure we will be seeing the GHv3 here on the channel any more. Makes me really sad.

Yo. On the ghv3 can you have several custom blade styles/sound fonts that you can cycle through without having to edit it all the time

You mentioned how easy it is to add custom sound fonts for the golden harvest… is it that easy for the Xenopixel V3? I want to add the Crispity font to the saber I get but I want it to be easy and have all the sounds for ignition, swinging and others. Also is there a difference in sound loudness/quality?

As long as it’s a xeno v3 format it’s pretty much drag and drop and label the folder what ever the next number it.

@@TheCollectorsOutpost Imperial workshop only has the Scavenger V2 in stock right now, but I found a website called Damiensaber that’s selling a “Metal Hilt Force FX XENO3.0 Bluetooth APP Supporting Dueling Light Saber Infinite Color Changing with 34 Sound Fonts Sensitive Smooth Swing” for $140… it’s apparently a xeno3.0 and looks exactly like the scavenger. Should I get that or the Scavenger V2 if I want to add custom sound fonts?

It’s all explained in the video. Baselit has a light In the hilt to lights an empty blade. Neopixel connects to a different blade that has LEDs inside the blade.

Yep, he make GHV3 as part of all downloads. I just uploaded all his Ashoka show fonts on to a new GHv3. They work great.

What's confusing me is that under the descriptions for blade effects on most websites for say tip drag and melt, for a neopixel v2 or v3 these are listed under sound effects andnnot blade effects where as on padawan outpost a proffie model shows these also under blade effect, can someone confirm if a neopixel v2 or v3 has these as a blade effect also?

Tip drag or tip melt are blade effects. It’s an effect that happens to the tip Of the blade. Lights up white or yellow. Many places also label blades as Neopixel or Proffie and that’s also wrong.m and misleading. One is a blade and one is a board. Oh are neo pixel is the blade has LEDs in it.

@@TheCollectorsOutpost ok, so for example on padawan outpost when I can choose either xeonpixel V2 or either proffie 2.2 as I definitely won't go for baselit, the xeonpixel will also have melt and drag blade effects, again sorry if this is such a noob question 😂

@@elliotsmith5474 Just don’t select baselit and you will get a neopixel blade in ether xeno or Proffie with all the effects. If you don’t know what the different is and you are new to this I would go Xeno as it’s far easier then Proffie and has a mobile app.

one thing that i really need answered that no one ever mentions. i have a baselit saber. and with all those blades there is this anoying cap at the tip of the blade. which ends up ruining the flow of light. it looks bad. i need to know if these pixel bladed sabers have that cap at the tip that thows the light flow off. really warps it. but every time i go to buy a more convincing blade i cant seem to get a detailed image of the tip or hear anyone talk about it. so does the pixel blades have that tip cap at the end?

Cap? Are you talking about a reflective blade tip that bounces the light back in to the blade? That helps its light the blade up more. The NeoPixel are light internal from top to bottom with LEDs. No need for a light reflective tip.

Any company for the most part. Proffie will be the most customizable if you learn how to program the board.

You sorta had me sold on GHv3 since I have already known I am not going to try to learn Proffie skills. BUT...then you said the app makes the Xeno v3 "the best bang for the buck". But is "bang for buck" still not better than GHv3? The price difference in the boards is not a concern. I just want an windows intuitive, user friendly drag and drop/rename folders system. I plan to add lots of sounds/bladestyles from the major creators to my new KR Saber when I get it and get it installed. Thanks for the great review!

My question is: how do I get them to shut up? I don't want any voices coming from my saber. I just want the sound effects. It really ruins it for me when a voice says something like "volume up" when I change a setting. This is the only reason I haven't bought one of these xenopixel or whatever fancy sabers.

They can. I always recommend lite dueling with pixel blades and heavy with baselit
