Finally, a dude who speaks my language! Incredible video man. Couple of questions if you have the time. I essentially want a blade that I can drag/drop or copy/paste fonts on to. I will not be doing heavy customizing/coding, so i definitely think I am leaning towards Golden Harvest. 1. Is the quality of a GH board equal to a proffie such that smooth swing, accent swings, response, lighting, sound are all identical? Or does proffie have the edge on this? 2. Similarly, it seems that you can install proffie files onto a GH board. So, if I wanted to purchase a font off of Kyberohonics, for example, would that font have identical quality on the GH saber as it would a Proffie saber? 3. Any particular, reputable sites to look at for GH sabers? 4. Seems that GH comes preloaded with lots of content already. But let's say I want an Anakin EP3 hilt. Will it have that font from the movie on it already or is that something I have to search out? Thanks a million man. Really appreciate it in advance! Super excited about this!

Well the 3 big manufacturers when I made that video, it’s an older video, no longer offer GH boards. The 2 main boards of their own they push are SNv4 pro and Xeno v3. Both have great phone apps to use and customize. SNv4 can also download loads of blade styles and quality of sound if far better than the Xeno v3. GHv4 is coming soon but I do not thing TXQ or Nexus manufacturers will be offering it.

As of october 2024, the xeno v3 app and soundboard work phenominally. They have done many upgrades to ignitions to burst white upon basic ingition, change ignition timing, and so many blade styles too. Ghost blade with a crispy fint is crazy cool

What about Crystal Focus (CFX)? It has a phone and PC app, and a ton of features including a programmable ignition. Granted it has been a while since I messed with saber boards, but last I remember CFX was the top end.

CFX isn’t shipped or offered from TXQ or LGT and today they even got rid of Golden Harvest in favor of pushing their own boards harder( SNV4 pro & Xeno v3)

For technical proficiency: (1) Newbs who are scared to tinker and brick their stuff should go for the SN Pixel, (2) intermediate users who want customization without doing programming and using simple batch/initialization and drag drop file features can utilize GHv3, (3) advanced users who want complete customization/programming and all that technical babble to feel superior, but are actually grown up adults who play with light-up swords like me should go for Proffie.

Darkwolf and Crimson Dawn were also said to be good. But for soundboards, I hear Proffie, CFX, Golden Harvest and XenoV3 are the ones to look at. Proffie2.2 is probably out coz I don't have the time to tinker with code.

Saber trio makes some great quality stuff but I never bought anything from them as I simple don’t really like any of the designs. VADERS Vault any time I looks for anything never had anything in stock and the few people I know with something from them said the wait was MONTHS sand MONTHS. I have a Korbanth and that’s Proffie and I have a saber forge and that’s GHV3.

No. Xeno and SNv4 (sn pixel) are pretty much the same and both have apps. Golden Harvest and Proffie are completely their own thing.in the end they all do the same thing but under the hood is different. SNv4 is basically a 2 button version of Xeno. Golden Harvest has a full menu system on the hilt it self and Proffie you need to learn the program and coding.

But what im really asking is. are xeno and golden harvest the exact same thing? except one uses an app for options and one uses the hilt for options. For me, I'd want to know which one is the best sound quality and sensitivity of the effects. I dont even care about the color changing and all the crazy crap. Just look and sound realistic, and be the color I want it to be when I buy it.

GHV3 and Proffie are the best sounding of these options but if you want the better sounding sabers then none of these. Xeno would be at the bottom of my (sound good) list. You need to look in to saber trio, 89 sabers, Korbanth. Things like that with higher end installs. Look for Lager 28mm speakers. My best sounding saber is my Korbanth kenobi. Thing is a monster.

I really do miss the simple design. I don't understand all the changing colors. This was really helpful. I’ll look for a Xenopixel next 🥹 I got my first lightsaber and the options were Rgb-S16 and Neopixel so I think that means the board is Snv4 pro but I’m not really sure. I figured I don’t need the latest and greatest for my very first one plus they’re expensive. The blades honestly can take a beating. But keep in mind each blade is about $130 give or take and I’ve broken a few of them pretty easily just due to a flaw in the material or that specific run. But light dueling should be OK. But they can take a pretty good beating

What is Asteria, Graflex etc?

Graflex is a saber hilt. Asteria is another board like Proffie, CFX, Xeno . One is a hilt and one is a board. Ultimate Works seems to be one of the few that offer Asteria as an option. I rarely ever get in a UW saber and when I do they have Proffie. The many boards offered by to two mainstream manufacturers are Xeno v3, SNv4 Pro and Proffie. They have done away with Ghv3 sadly.

I don’t have one and TXQ and LGT don’t use CFX for any sabers I review. They don’t even use GHV3 any more.

People love CFX and Proffie and I love GHV3 but now in 2024? Hmmmm well Proffie sits on top as the “can do anything “ kind of board if that’s your kind of thing and you are in coding and programming that board. It’s not my thing. With the progression of SNv4 Pro and Xeno it has become harder and harder for me to my fav is GHv3 cuz there’s so much I love between the Xeno and SNv4 Pro now.

Why do the sabers turn on and off with the twist motion and not an on and off switch?

It’s called motion control (twist on and twist off) and they turn on and off with the button as well.

@@TheCollectorsOutpost good to know, I wanted a lightsaber that uses the switch to turn on and off, so I've been confused in all videos where they do the motion to power them instead

@@grahtmanit's just easier to twist the saber to turn it on/off rather than pushing a button to turn it on, and holding the button for like 5 seconds to turn it off.

What's confusing me is that under the descriptions for blade effects on most websites for say tip drag and melt, for a neopixel v2 or v3 these are listed under sound effects andnnot blade effects where as on padawan outpost a proffie model shows these also under blade effect, can someone confirm if a neopixel v2 or v3 has these as a blade effect also?

Tip drag or tip melt are blade effects. It’s an effect that happens to the tip Of the blade. Lights up white or yellow. Many places also label blades as Neopixel or Proffie and that’s also wrong.m and misleading. One is a blade and one is a board. Oh are neo pixel is the blade has LEDs in it.

@@TheCollectorsOutpost ok, so for example on padawan outpost when I can choose either xeonpixel V2 or either proffie 2.2 as I definitely won't go for baselit, the xeonpixel will also have melt and drag blade effects, again sorry if this is such a noob question 😂

@@elliotsmith5474 Just don’t select baselit and you will get a neopixel blade in ether xeno or Proffie with all the effects. If you don’t know what the different is and you are new to this I would go Xeno as it’s far easier then Proffie and has a mobile app.

All depends on what hilts you’re getting. 2 different companies so you can’t get the same hilt in ether. So it just depends on what you are looking at.

Great comparison, Jon! And Sam's videos really helped me with Proffie when I got my first saber And I'm the complete opposite of you. I can do Proffie all day, but I'm always get tripped up with GHv3 lol

Same here. I learned how to use Arduino from watching KZbin tutorials, and I don't have the patience to learn how to use another soundboard. Once you get comfortable with customizing proffie, it's hard to go back to anything else. 😜

Ok. Brother, this is the best break down description of these blades. Im still not buying because i am waiting for Comic con in a month in SanDiego. Ill see if i can get a deal. Lmk if you are coming? Also what booth do you think i would want to go to? Thanks for the usual great vids! Edit- i want to add the NeoSabers has no customer support on the telephone. And while they are polite, i have sent 10 to 20 emails to have this explained, and they cannot explain it well, other than to say V3 xeno is for me, because of what i have saud to them. But now i understand all of it!
