I remember those. They were cheap and practically a legit weapon due to the amount of beating they could take. I remember after Disney took over I felt like the retail sabers were so thin and fragile in comparison. I think the last time I saw those awesome ones was in a CVS mere months before the Disney purchase.

On my 11th birthday, we went to Disneyland, and I built one of those plastic telescoping lightsabers at Star Tours. I took it apart after that, because we weren't going to buy it yet, but later my dad and brother went back there and bought me one with decorations that I wanted. I liked it a lot, but then one time when I was dueling with my brother, the emitter snapped off. It was fun while it lasted, though.

I've had this custom baselit rgb for about a year (got it from a comic book store) and I could never get it to work. It would register and respond when it was being charged but that was all it could do. After watching this video I began to wonder if it had a kill - switch that I just didn't know about. So at almost 2 o'clock this morning, I removed the chassis from the hilt for the first time. It's a baselit chassis but the software is labeled as a xeno. Here's the kicker. Whoever had this saber last, the smartass didn't even put an SD card in the socket, which is why it doesn't do anything. So thank you Obi-dad for giving me an idea of what I might be up against.

I remember when my cousin had that exact 1995 Luke lightsaber. I asked my parents incessantly for my own but they kept telling me "if you do this or that, then we'll think about it" and then they didn't deliver on it or give me a straight answer. I guess as an adult I have ebay now.

I still don’t know what to get? I’m wanting best detail, and battle ready. And I don’t mind spending a lot if I get those things and it will last. But there are multiple options, and some say the Disney ones are fine for the money (and I think you can get more custom sorts for them?.) But at $300, mass produced and they still have issues? Or aren’t heavy battle ready it’s a bit disappointing. I just don’t know what to do, if I get the top line one will I actually use them? What would give me what I want and at an ok price? Incase I need to replace it.

Believe it or not, I received my first saber long before I had seen any Star Wars content at all! A family relative got my brother and I some. We quite enjoyed them even though the context was foreign to us. While the lights and sounds faded over time, we continued to enjoy them. A few months after we watched our first Star Wars movie (A New Hope, of course), we built some lightsabers at Walt Disney World's equivalent of Star Traders at Disneyland. Those still work to this day, surprisingly enough! When I acquired a 3D printer, I made a few replica hilts just for fun. Last year, I purchased the Hacksmith Minisaber. I've found many times where it is useful as a tool, and a fun one at that. I have yet to buy one of the more expensive lightsabers on the market, so your video is quite useful!

My first lightsaber was a cardboard wrapping paper tube. I taped a crisscross over the far end to make the whoosh sound when I swung the tube. My 2nd lightsaber was Luke's green Force FX that my boss gave me for Christmas. My 3rd was Rey's yellow saber that I bought from Dok Ondar's.

Force FX lightsabers used to have compatible belt clips and even came with their own clips. My Kit Fisto perfectly fits on a regular replica beltclip. However since Force FX Elite came out they don't support this any longer. Not officially at least. Of course you can still wear the lightsabers that come with a D-Ring or Tri-Ring, like the recently released Darth Vader or Luke Skywalker. Only exception is the Darksaber, that one doesn't have a ring like in the show but it still has the hole were the ring is supposed to be, as if Hasbro originally intended to give it a ring, so I just installed a keychain ring myself, boom, Darksaber is wearable (and stil fits in the stand). I also have the Rey Skywalker, that one as well is wearable because, similar to the reforged Skywalker, it uses like a ballpoint clip kinda hook so you can just hook it on your belt and it stays there via the magical force of gravity. However, although this is good for photos I don't recommend this for conventions, cosplay or any other kind of going outside for that matter, 'cause it may come off pretty easily when you take a seat or run or do anything else besides normal walking. In that case I'd recommend using one of the holes on the bottom and do the same as with the Darksaber by installing a metal ring youself. Makes it a bit less accurate and doesn't change the fact it's still damn heavy on youe hip but at least it's a solid and secure connection. At the end of the day I think it's understandable Hasbro wants to protect their "elite" sabers from cosplayers but I wish they decided to include actual covertec wheels again.
@FindingTheForce Жыл бұрын
Hey bud, that’s super interesting, I did not know that the Force FX sabers ever fit on belt clips. Thank you so much for watching. 👍🏻

Base lit RGB are great as a relatively inexpensive heavy fighting option and they can be shortened (with a saw) to fit for kids! (the default length is 92 cm) When shortened it's probably the ultimate light saber for children with really smooth sound and bright RBG blade. Very sturdy and cheap to replace in case the blade end up broken.

Thank you for this. Wonderful video. *ARTSABERS* rocks. I can only imagine being 14 again, being a massive SW fan… & asking my parents if they’ll get me a lightsaber for $170-$200… & telling them that is one of the CHEAPEST ones… 😂 I personally believe that the $240-$300 ish ones should really be around, $100-140… it’s really just plastic, LEDs, & a very basic Chinese made chipset… the cost to produce one of these things is likely around, $40, MAX. $200+ is just way too much… it’s not even a ‘I wouldn’t pay that much for…’ issue… it’s not a matter of, ‘I wouldn’t’… but more so a matter of ‘I can’t afford…’ The issue is that many (likely MOST) of the big fans that would love a cool saber? Has no chance to afford it. A younger person can’t drop 200+ on something like this… & I don’t think the typical parent will drop that either… I don’t think any 10-16 yr old kid should be forced into getting a plastic piece of crap one that hardly lights up for $40-50…. But yeah… I know how the system works. I just don’t like how these are only really available to adults. Sorry for the rant… *I saw some sabers on that ARTSABER site for like, $95.00.. that’s actually pretty awesome of them… if it actually is as quality as you’re saying.. so good on them for that* That $1,000 one is absolutely ridiculous. Being made in the USA is awesome… but charging that much for probably like $150 in material (AT MOST! Likely WAY LESS) is insanity… for that much, it should be hand made, with a lifetime warranty, & like 3-5 extra blades… AND be extremely durable & able to duel with. That’s still not enough to demand for asking $1,000… *so I’ll say again… GOOD on ARTSABERS, & you for promoting them* It’s absolutely criminal what companies will charge for the illusion of quality. Being made in the USA I can buy it being about, $50-75 extra… sorry that stuff just really gets to me… because in the end… this franchise really is FOR youngsters… Thanks again though… great video.

@@FindingTheForce You're welcome! Happy to help! They work on both the green and white residue. You can use a blunt toothpick to really get in the crevices if needed. Oh, and if anyone's confused.. there's generally a pointy and round side to toothpicks.. but you can literally just push it up against something hard like a countertop to make it softer against the circuit board and not push through the wipe.
