I have confirmed with factory the app motor speed only applies if you wire the crystal directly to the M+ and M- of the board on custom installs DIY this particular hilt is wired differently therefore u can not control the motion. This is a 2 part core. Reason is the crystal is currently wired to mimic blade same on proffie

I like to think the whole "crystal spin speed being determined by the brightness" is like the brighter the blade the more of an energy output the crystal is giving so it turns faster.

Amazing review as always, Jon! Yea, the first affordable spinning crystal chamber definitely is awesome for this piece and we are working on making it quieter for the next one. The motor speed variation is due to voltage changes depending on color as each color draws a different voltage amount which affects motor rpm’s directly. Same thing with dimming the blade as you are directly affecting the power going to the positive lead of the chamber and pixel blade. MTFBWY

It would be cool if the crystal was behind a cover that you slide away to display the insides.
@fredhollis39999 ай бұрын
When you were watching the chambers colors change isn't it that certain lightsabers had different power levels depending on the Jedi or are sith and that they turned and that determine the power of the lightsaber .
@TheCollectorsOutpost9 ай бұрын
Nah this has something to do ether with linked coding or voltage consumption
@rdx45425 ай бұрын
The crystal chamber and the LEDs are connected to the same circuit. You dim the LEDs by reducing the power flow to them and also reducing the power flow to the motor that spins the crystal so it slows down.
@newhappiness44109 ай бұрын
Hi just had correspondence from Vader Sabers n they said the spinning Crystal in this design is spinning quicker than other spinning type crystals hence the slight noise. Just wondering if dimming the blade would slow the Crystal n noise down?

I absolutely agree with you about the machined look of the broken hilt. I don't like that either, and even though I don't know engineering or 3d printing, I know they could've done something that looks rough, angular or broken and still retain smoothness., but my lord that's a beautiful saber! As always thanks for sharing, love these videos! Are you going to weather it? I do weathering myself, but not on things like this. I weather or distress corpses and clothing for horror purposes & filmmaking. I don't know chemicals or the method in which creates certain types of weathering, but I'm interesting in learning. That's something I'll always enjoy!.

I just got mine, and holy **** am I loving the design. One setback thou. It keeps disconnecting from the app after about 10-30 seconds. I’m thinking it might be the thickness of the hilt capping the BT signal, but it’s just my best guess. Any experience with this issue?

To me, it looks like they tied the motor power, the led for the crystal and the pixel blade together. That would make the wiring simpler and allow the lighting to sync, but causes the issues you discovered. I'm wondering if they get feedback on this if they'll rewire it so the motor is isolated to its' own circuit connection. Or, they're limited to how many connections are left on the Xeno board.
@chalion83999 ай бұрын
I'll have to pass on that hilt though. Open area, just where you'd need to grip it? That just means, to me it's going to be a display hilt, which is not for me.
@chalion83999 ай бұрын
After reading the below reply from VS, they know about the motor noise and how the power draw for lighting changes the motor speed.

Not allowing to have a clear cover onto hole in lightsaber with entire spinning mechanism, does makes it very susceptible to damage by dirt and dust?
@emptymaggaming38638 ай бұрын
Good looking saber if it didn't have the big hole in it. As is it's just cheesy. They should have just had a removable plate there for display. I assume this is not a usable saber as I'm sure the spinning mechanism is pretty fragile not to mention the hole will be uncomfortable in the hand.

Based In Florida? Both of my Sabers were shipped form China. No big deal, but the second one doubled the shipping time because of the holiday. I’m assuming Chinese new year. Still love the first one. I’ll provide feedback when the second arrives.
@TheCollectorsOutpost9 ай бұрын
Yes based in Florida. Some sabers they have in stock to ship fast or for customs weathering and others are drop shipped direct from the factory in China. It’s impossible to keep all models in stock locally. You need a full warehouse with astronomical over head cost for that. Just like most of the other resellers they are dropped shipped. But when you need to customize, fix or contact customer service they are in Florida.

Yeah not a fan of the design of the hole. It just seems like a forced lazy design. There are so many different ways you could have made that look cool and I wouldn’t waste time DIY. Would rather find another Saber with a spinning chamber. If not would get this Saber then DIY and move it to another saber making my own open Kyber Crystal opening.
